PNP FACILITATES SURRENDER OF 6 CTG MEMBERS ACROSS EASTERN VISAYAS

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., through Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8), facilitated the surrender of six Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members from April 24 to 26, 2026 in separate operations across Eastern Visayas, anchored on sustained peace and security efforts in Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte.

On April 24, 2026, the 801st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8 facilitated the surrender of a 46-year-old male from Oras, Eastern Samar, a former member of SRC ARCTIC under the Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee (EVRPC). On the same day, the 2nd Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company assisted the surrender of a 41-year-old male from Leyte, Leyte, formerly linked to SRC LEVOX of EVRPC. He also turned over one unmarked .38 revolver, two rounds of ammunition, one 40mm rifle gr***de, and 4.5 meters of detonating cord.

On April 25, 2026, the 803rd Maneuver Company, RMFB 8 facilitated the surrender of a 28-year-old male from Catarman, Northern Samar, previously affiliated with SRC EMPORIUM of EVRPC.

On April 26, 2026, the Lope De Vega Municipal Police Station assisted the surrender of a 32-year-old male from Lope De Vega, Northern Samar, who also surrendered one rifle gr***de. On the same day, the 804th Maneuver Company, RMFB 8 facilitated the surrender of a 42-year-old male from Bobon, Northern Samar, formerly associated with SRC EMPORIUM of EVRPC, while the 1st Eastern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company assisted the surrender of a 60-year-old male from Dolores, Eastern Samar, previously linked to SRC ARCTIC of EVRPC.

The individuals are currently under the custody of their respective units for documentation and assessment for possible inclusion in the Government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), which supports their reintegration into peaceful and productive civilian life.

The development reflects the implementation of the PNP Focused Agenda—a transformation framework designed to make police service more responsive, people-centered, and anchored on active community support and enhanced managing police operations, particularly in strengthening initiatives that encourage former rebels to return to peaceful society.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said, “We continue to welcome those who choose to return to the fold of the law, as each surrender is a step toward lasting peace and stability in our communities.”

He added, “Ang bawat pagbabalik-loob ay hakbang tungo sa mas mapayapang kinabukasan. Hinihikayat namin ang iba pa na talikuran ang karahasan at piliin ang kapayapaan.”

SWIFT PNP ACTION LEADS TO SAFE RECOVERY OF EXPLOSIVE REMNANTS IN PASAY AIRPORT VICINITY

The Philippine National Police, through its Aviation Security Group Explosives Ordnance Disposal and K9 Unit, promptly responded to a report of suspected Explosive Remnants of War discovered at taxiway within the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Complex in Pasay City on April 26, 2026.

In line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, EOD/K9 personnel were immediately deployed in coordination with airport security to secure the area and ensure public safety. The operation is part of ongoing efforts under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure nationwide.

Upon thorough assessment, EOD personnel safely recovered six (6) general-purpose bombs weighing 50 pounds each, all confirmed to be inert and heavily corroded. Follow-up clearing operations in the surrounding vicinity led to the recovery of additional items consisting of four (4) more 50-pound bombs and eighteen (18) 25-pound bombs, all likewise assessed as inert and no longer posing active explosive danger.

All recovered materials were properly secured and transported to the AVSECU Headquarters for documentation and safekeeping. The entire operation concluded at approximately 2:50 PM without any untoward incident.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the quick action of the responding personnel, saying, “We acted immediately because safety cannot wait. Ganyan ang trabaho ng PNP—alerto, disiplinado, at laging handa. We assure the public that every report of possible threat is taken seriously and addressed with urgency and care.”

He added that the PNP remains steadfast in its mandate to safeguard communities and vital installations. “Patuloy po ang ating pagbabantay, especially sa mga critical areas. Ang bawat aksyon natin ay para siguruhing ligtas ang ating mga kababayan,” he said.

PNP SEIZES ₱7.45M SHABU; 2 HIGH-VALUE SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN BOHOL BUY-BUST

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., conducted a successful buy-bust operation at 12:56 AM on April 27, 2026 in Purok 3, Brgy. Dampas, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, resulting in the arrest of two high-value individuals and the seizure of suspected shabu valued at ₱7,458,920.00.

The joint operation was carried out by Tagbilaran City Police Station (CPS), Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PPDEU) of Bohol PPO, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 7 (RPDEU 7), and Special Operations Unit 7 of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (SOU 7). Authorities confiscated approximately 1,096.9 grams of suspected shabu, along with the buy-bust money and other pieces of evidence. The suspects and recovered items are now under the custody of Tagbilaran CPS for proper documentation and filing of charges.

The operation is consistent with the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which reinforces sustained and intelligence-driven anti-illegal drug operations aimed at dismantling drug distribution activities and strengthening field-level enforcement outcomes.

PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said: “This successful operation reflects our continued commitment to disrupt illegal drug activities and prevent them from reaching our communities. We will sustain our efforts against all forms of drug trafficking.”

PNP-HPG SUSTAINS NATIONWIDE DRIVE, ARRESTS FOUR IN CARNAPPING-RELATED CASES

The Philippine National Police, through Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) reported the successful conduct of multiple intelligence-driven operations on April 24, 2026, resulting in the arrest of four wanted individuals involved in carnapping and other offenses, as well as the implementation of several outstanding warrants across different parts of the country.

In Leyte, a 27-year-old unemployed male was arrested in Dagami for a carnapping case pursuant to a warrant issued by a Regional Trial Court. Shortly after, in Antipolo City, a 28-year-old carpenter from Northern Samar was apprehended through a coordinated tracker operation involving multiple police units for a similar carnapping-related warrant issued several years ago. Both individuals are now under the custody of their respective police units for proper disposition and court proceedings.

Meanwhile, in Laguna, a 29-year-old male was arrested after being flagged down for a traffic violation and was later found to have falsely represented himself as a police officer. He now faces charges for resistance and disobedience to a person in authority and usurpation of authority under the Revised Penal Code.

In Isabela, a joint operation by regional and local police units led to the arrest of a helper, 41 years old, for a carnapping case with an existing warrant issued by a Regional Trial Court. The individual is currently under police custody awaiting court turnover.

In Pangasinan, authorities successfully served two warrants of arrest against a 54-year-old male from Pampanga, listed as a municipal-level wanted person. The cases involve charges of direct assault with attempted murder and theft issued by courts in Pampanga and Makati City.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for their sustained efforts, saying, “Patuloy ang ating operasyon para habulin ang mga may outstanding warrants at mga sangkot sa krimen. This is part of our commitment to make sure that those who evade the law are accounted for. Sa PNP, tuloy-tuloy ang trabaho para sa seguridad ng bawat Pilipino.”

He added that the PNP remains focused on intelligence-driven operations and coordinated law enforcement activities to ensure safer communities nationwide.

These coordinated operations were carried out in support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s thrust for a safer and more secure nation, and are aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations.

PNP STATEMENT

The Philippine National Police (PNP) strongly condemns the incident involving a police officer and the assigned driver of a mobile patrol unit, as seen in a viral video, for actions that posed a risk to public safety and violated existing traffic regulations.

We respect the actions taken by the Land Transportation Office (LTO), including the issuance of a Show Cause Order (SCO), and we are closely coordinating with the agency in the ongoing investigation. Administrative action will be pursued as warranted, in accordance with existing laws and PNP policies.

We reiterate that all PNP personnel are expected to uphold the highest standards of discipline and professionalism at all times. Any act that compromises public safety or erodes public trust will not be tolerated.

The PNP remains committed to ensuring accountability within its ranks and to maintaining the confidence of the public through responsible and transparent action.

KAPULISAN, HINANGAAN SA AGARANG PAGTULONG SA INA AT SANGGOL SA KALINGA

Isang ordinaryong checkpoint operation ang nauwi sa isang makabuluhang tagpo ng malasakit matapos agad na rumesponde ang mga tauhan ng Pinukpuk Municipal Police Station sa isang inang may dalang sanggol na nangangailangan ng agarang tulong.

Habang nagpapatupad ng routine inspection sa mga motorista, napansin ng mga pulis ang isang babaeng nakayapak, pagod na pagod, at bitbit ang kanyang sanggol na halatang hindi maayos ang kalagayan. Sa halip na palampasin, agad nila itong nilapitan at inasikaso.

Dalawang police personnel—PCpl Jaynifer D. Pattal at PCpl Arlyn D. Dumayag-Peng-at—ang nanguna sa pag-aalaga sa sanggol. Maingat nilang sinuri ang bata, pinalitan ng diaper, at tiniyak na malinis at komportable ito. Humingi rin sila ng tulong sa mga residente sa lugar na boluntaryong nagbigay ng damit para sa sanggol.

Binigyan din ng pagkain at sandaling pahinga ang ina, habang nag-abot ng tulong pinansyal ang mga pulis para sa pamasahe upang makauwi nang ligtas ang mag-ina.

Ayon kay Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., ang ganitong mga pagkakataon ay nagpapakita ng tunay na diwa ng serbisyo ng kapulisan.

“Ang pulis na may malasakit ay hindi lang nakatuon sa pagpapatupad ng batas, kundi sa pag-abot ng tulong sa oras ng pangangailangan. Ito ang klase ng serbisyo na nagpapalalim ng tiwala ng ating mga kababayan sa PNP,” ani PGen Nartatez.

Dagdag pa ng Chief PNP, ang ganitong klaseng pagtugon ay patunay na ang kapulisan ay nananatiling malapit sa mamamayan sa oras ng pangangailangan.

Ang pangyayaring ito ay nagsilbing paalala na ang isang checkpoint ay hindi lamang lugar ng inspeksyon, kundi maaari ring maging sandali ng pag-asa at malasakit.

Sa ilalim ng Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman, patuloy na pinapatunayan ng kapulisan na ang tunay na seguridad ay may kasamang puso at malasakit para sa bawat Pilipino.
