Calling all coffee lovers! Engkanto has collaborated with Yardstick Coffee to bring their signature Golden Ticket blend to a craft b**r.

Golden Ticket Coffee Porter clocks in at a steady 5.5% ABV, and lands on the palate with a bright orange-y note before delivering a payload of milk chocolate and caramel.

Boondocks Brewing Company brews out of Marikina, and is the brainchild of Fred Calope, who left a career in the law to pursue b**rmaking. Full disclosure: Fred is also one of the owners of The B**r Coop, but he doesn’t exclusively push Boondocks b**rs on our customers. To be clear: he does push Boondocks b**rs on customers; just not exclusively.

Boondocks produces four core b**rs and a hard seltzer. Their Strong Ale, an 8.5% quasi-Belgian dubbel, is one of the best sellers in the Coop. It’s just about the most bang for the buck you can get in our chillers. Recently, Boondocks has been doing collabs with other breweries, and should be offering some limited-release b**rs soon. Count on them showing up in the Coop.

The B**r Coop is a pet-friendly space! Just know that it can get crowded in our little space, and your little buddy might get overstimulated. Common sense rules apply, but we’re more than happy to have your pet around in our store.

Also, please don’t give b**r to your pets. It’s just not a good idea.

Fresh Drop: Banayad Jinjinir IPA.

Banayad’s newest b**r is an 8% IPA that takes inspiration from another alcoholic beverage: gin. Brewed with juniper, ginger, and lemon-lime, and matched with big, citrusy hops, Jinjinir is herby, spicy, bitter, floral, and offers plenty of kick.

It’s 220 per can in our strong b**r section.

Patricia “Ching” Calope keeps The B**r Coop clucking along, keeping our shelves stocked with all the b**rs from our partner breweries. If your favorite b**r isn’t available, rest assured that Ching is working hard to get it back in stock.

As for her own favorites, she’s picked two b**rs from Boondocks Brewery (full disclosure: Ching is a partner at Boondocks, and is married to the head brewer), and a b**r from Dumaguete’s Apolong Brewery. Care to try her faves? Come over to the Coop to taste them.

Here’s something you ought to know: there’s great craft b**r all over the Philippines. It can just be a challenge to find them, since these breweries are all over the map, and some are still too small to have their b**r regularly sold anywhere.
