The FILHAI MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVE, as it is known now, started as a Consumer Cooperative in 1998 with 40 pioneering members who invested an initial sum of ₱320,000.00. They courageously ventured to start a small, 30 sq.m. grocery store. The store has since grown to 120 sq.m. floor space and with an equity of close to ₱3M as of December 31, 2016.
With the approval of the Amendments to the By-Laws by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) on November 4, 2011, the COOP not only became compliant with RA 9520 known as the Philippine Cooperative Code, but more importantly, the approval allowed the COOP to extend other services to its members/customers.
True to its mission to be the provider of beneficial and productive services for the convenience and satisfaction of its discerning members/customers, the COOP continually aims to do its utmost best to serve the community in various ways as evidenced by the growing number of products and services it now offers.
The FILHAI Multi-Purpose Cooperative provides service on a more personal level. The COOP assists enterprising members who would like to venture into business by accepting the consignment of goods at a reasonable markup price. Requests from members are also accommodated to the best of its capacity.
