🎨 1. Suspicious Color
Unless you're drinking a long-aged vintage like a Macallan 18, a deep amber hue is often a warning. Budget whiskies are typically young; achieving that dark, bold color naturally takes years in a barrel. If it’s dark and cheap, it’s likely loaded with artificial additives and spirit caramel. While it’s hard to find a 100% natural product these days, cheap whiskies often contain low-quality chemicals. In this case, a terrible hangover the next morning might be the least of your problems!

Champagne is just overpriced sparkling wine... or is it? 🤔
We’ve all seen someone call every bottle of bubbly "Champagne," but is that actually right? The golden rule is: All Champagne is sparkling wine, but not all sparkling wine is Champagne.

Here is why the distinction matters:

📍 Geography: True Champagne MUST come from the Champagne region of France. Anything made outside this area—even if it’s French—is simply sparkling wine.
🍾 Production Method: Authentic Champagne uses the "Traditional Method" (Méthode Champenoise). The bubbles are created during a second fermentation inside each individual bottle. Many other sparkling wines use the "Tank Method," which is faster and more cost-effective.
🍇 The Grapes: Champagne is strictly limited to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Other favorites like Prosecco use Glera, while Cava uses Macabeu.

3️⃣ Serial Numbers: Every bottle should have a crisp, readable serial number. If it’s blurred, scratched off, or missing, it’s a red flag.
