In Valencia, Negros Oriental, Michael Alano turned a humble collaboration hub into Subida Souvenirs—a multi-awarded, socially driven enterprise that uplifts Filipino artisans and celebrates local culture.

Through programs like DTI’s One Town, One Product (OTOP) and DOST’s SETUP, Subida grew from handmade beginnings to national recognition—all while empowering 68 local craft workers, including PWDs and grassroots creatives.

Even after pandemic setbacks, Michael chose to rebuild with even greater heart. Today, Subida stands as a living testament to resilience, heritage, and the power of community-led innovation.
