🐢 Turtle vs Tortoise — Nature’s Amazing Adaptations 🐢

Did you know that turtles and tortoises, though often confused, are built for completely different worlds? 🌍

🌊 Turtles live in the sea.
They have flippers for swimming, a flat streamlined shell for gliding through water, and they eat both plants and small animals — making them omnivores.

🌿 Tortoises live on land.
Their sturdy, dome-shaped shells protect them from predators, and their thick, strong feet are perfect for walking on dry ground. They are herbivores, feeding mainly on grasses and plants.

👉 Both are incredible survivors — each perfectly adapted to their unique environments!

My kids don’t owe me anything for my sacrifices.⁣⁣

It was all my choice.⁣⁣
⁣
I wanted to give my body to breastfeed and carry them.⁣⁣
⁣
I wanted to give all my time and energy to them.⁣⁣
⁣
I always wanted to put them first.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I wanted to comfort them through many sleepless nights

and to change all their diapers while they squirm around.

I wanted to put aside some of my dreams to focus on them,⁣⁣

to be their everything.⁣⁣
⁣
Because as a parent⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I want to support their journey on earth⁣⁣
⁣⁣
and for them to know they’re never alone⁣⁣
⁣⁣
because I'll be by their side or, in their subconscious, loving them.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And I want them to be happy above anything in my life.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I love them that much.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So, they owe me nothing.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Because they didn't ask me to do any of this.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It was all my choice.⁣⁣

Pencil: I'm sorry.
Eraser: For what?
Pencil: I'm sorry, you get hurt because of me. Whenever I make a mistake, you're always there to erase it.
But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself and get smaller and smaller each time.
Eraser: That's true, but I don't really mind.
You see, I was made to do this, I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong, even though one day I know I'll be gone.
I'm actually happy with my job.
So please, stop worrying, I will not be happy if see you sad.

Reflection:
"Our parents are just like the eraser, and we are the pencil. They're always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes. Sometimes along the way they get hurt and become smaller (older and eventually pass on).

Moral Lesson:
Take care of your parents, treat them with kindness and most importantly love them with all your heart."

The power of a parent's tongue

A story is told about a young Thomas Edison who came home one day with a paper for his mother. He told her, “My teacher told me to give this paper only to my mother.”
Thomas’ mother read the note and her eyes filled with tears. Thomas asked his mother what the note said, and she read aloud,

“Your son is a genius. This school is too small for him and doesn’t have enough good teachers for training him. Please teach him yourself.”
And that’s exactly what Thomas’ mother did; she home-schooled her child with devotion and dedication. As the story goes, many years later after Thomas Edison’s mother passed on, and he was now one of the world’s greatest inventors, he found a folded paper among other family items. He opened the very same paper that had been handed to him to give to his mother and read the following message:

“Your son is mentally ill. We won’t let him come to school anymore.”
At that moment, Edison realised what his mother had done for him so many years ago. He wrote in his diary: “Thomas Alva Edison was an addled child that, by a hero mother, became the genius of the century.”

“The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”
Can you imagine what might have happened to Thomas Edison if his mother had read to him the reckless and hurtful words written by his teacher? He might never have invented the light bulb or made his many other contributions to society.
Thank God for the wisdom and wise words of his mother! She created the context in which her son could grow to his full potential.

Let’s take this message to heart and resolve to use our words for healing today. You might be a parent, what do you say to your children.... You might be a teacher, what do you say to your student... especially the ones that are not really performing well presently..

What do you say about your parents, family, boss, subordinate, leader, colleague, follower.... Just as hurtful words can cause uncontrolled damage for life, so can wise words positively affect a person for life. May the words you use today change a life for the better.
