What a night!!! Thank you so much to Blair Walter from for hosting this in depth tasting event. We looked back through multiple varieties and vintages of Felton Road, including their first ever vintage Bannockburn Pinot Noir from 1997!

- The Block 1 Rieslings were seemingly timeless with the perfect balance of residual sugar and brilliant acidity flecked with hints of honey and kerosene.
- The Bannockburn Chardonnays were full of citrus and just a touch of creaminess, showcasing the impact of limiting new oak.
- The Bannockburn Pinot Noir showed us that Central Otago undoubtedly has aging potential and revealed the more savoury style that was prevalent here in the early years.
- The Calvert Pinot Noirs were showing good development but still had their classic red fruit crunch and firm tannins demonstrating how to blend seriousness and elegance seamlessly.
- And lastly the Block 3 Pinot Noirs. These were special, just as Blair knew they were from the very start. He championed releasing this block separately from the Bannockburn Pinot from the get go and the legacy we all love was born.

A line up we won’t soon be forgetting!

All of New Zealand’s top wines and varieties can be tasted. There are 24 Pinot Noirs for tasting representing the best wines from Central Otago, Waitaki, Wairpara, Marlborough and Martinborough. If Sauvignon Blanc is your thing, the lineup of 8 for tasting showcases the best of Marlborough and the boutique styles from our finest vineyards. The same applies in the Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Rose, Riesling and Gewurztraminer tastings, with wines to suit all tastes and budgets. For those who appreciate the heavier full bodied red there are 20 wines for tasting covering Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Bordeaux blends and you will usually find a selection of wines from varieties such as Sangiovese, Dolcetto, Zinfandel, etc.

The Whisky tasting features the entire range from the NZ Whisky Collection of single malt whisky alongside a selection of other New Zealand premium distilleries.
