Once registered, each athlete must wear their age patch at all times please! Athletes over 7 years old can receive club points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Dannevirke Athletics is for children for 2-6 years following the get set go and run jump throw program. 7 years + follow a 4 week rotation with club points in term 4 and championship points in term 1. Club Nights are every Wednesday from October the 20th at 5.15pm for warm up activities, and will start at 5.30pm sharp until approximately 7pm. 2-4 year olds have a 30 min programme, while the 5&6 year olds follow a 45min skills session based on the Run, Jump, Throw programme. There is an award for each age group to the athlete with most club points at the end of the season! Please check the Dannevirke Athletics Club page for cancellations. Just a reminder all athletes need to be registered by Wednesday to join in
Also we will start the seniors U14,U16U18 at 5pm at discus if a senior can’t be there at 5pm we will catch them up at end of night
Everyone else warm up 5.10, ready to start 5.25

Calling all registered athletes 2-14years, only $5 per family, come and have a go at winning a ribbon and meeting new friends from other clubs. Kates coffee will be here from 10-12, raffle, BBQ, and even spot prizes!!! First Ribbon meet in 6 years - lets go Vikings!!!
Please note: 5-6 years will do a 60m and 2-4 years will do a 40m.

Dates to be aware of::

SENIORS - 14 yrs plus

Central League Meets 2026 - These kick off on the 31st October in Masterton, followed by Palmerston North on the 7th November and finally a home event in Hastings on the 21st November - Pre-entry is required if you wish to attend any of these meets, with an entry fee of $10.

HBG Senior Champs 2027 - Sunday, 14th February with the 3000m/5000m to be held on Tuesday, 9th February and the steeplechase champs to be held on Tuesday, 16th February, entry details will go out the athletes closer to the time and rep-entry is required with an entry fee of $10

Summer Circuit - The Athletics HBG summer circuit starts in January 2027 so keep an eye out for details as they come to light.
The Potts Classic and the ANZ Short Track Champs is being held on Saturday, 23rd January 2027

Open Meet - Hastings Athletic Club are hosting a Senior Open meet in conjunction with their Ribbon meet in the 5th December

Ribbon Meets for the season - great to see all clubs having a ribbon meet this season, November is going to be a hugely full month for our juniors.

Hastings Athletic Club - Saturday, 5th December at Mitre 10 Park
Napier Athletic Club - Sunday, 21st February 2027 at Marewa Park.
HBG Junior Champs 2027
This is set down for Saturday, 6th March at the Mitre 10 Park, Hastings
As usual clubs will be in charge of an event.
