Dannevirke Athletics Club Once registered, each athlete must wear their age patch at all times please! Athletes over 7 years old can receive club points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Dannevirke Athletics is for children for 2-6 years following the get set go and run jump throw program. 7 years + follow a 4 week rotation with club points in term 4 and championship points in term 1. Club Nights are every Wednesday from October the 20th at 5.15pm for warm up activities, and will start at 5.30pm sharp until approximately 7pm. 2-4 year olds have a 30 min programme, while the 5&6 ye

ar olds follow a 45min skills session based on the Run, Jump, Throw programme. There is an award for each age group to the athlete with most club points at the end of the season! Congratulations to Pippa DJ, William Easton and Will Hogan at North Islands Secondary schools in Hamilton- these 3 had to qualify at school then qualify at Manawatu and now they are up against the best in the North Island - go Dannevirke athletes

Pippa has qualified for javelin and triple jump ending up 4th in javelin with 24.67 with triple today

William Easton qualified for triple jump, high jump and 100m hurdles ending up 5th in high jump at a massive 1.75m, made finals for 100 hurdles with a PB of 15.98 to finish 8th overall with triple jump today

Will Hogan qualified for long jump, javelin, discus and relay team. He threw a PB in discus of 41.18 coming 3rd, a PB in javelin 43.03 gaining 2nd place, and 9th in long jump with 5.04m and finished the day off with a 4th place in relay.
