A little bit about me
Hello whisky curious person,
I start falling in love with whisky around 2015, when I first went to the Whisky Festival in the Great Church in the Hague. And after that I started organizing whisky tastings with friends and neighbors at home. And then I started thinking, maybe I can show more people what whisky has to offer and maybe connect people in the process and have fun while doing it. And because I speak fluent Dutch, Portuguese and English I started focusing towards whisky loving/curious expats and let them connect with this shared interest (and others).
During the process I have met a lot of people, local, abroad, young, old and to my surprise many ladies were interested as well in whisky. And during this little adventure I now ended up in an old building from 1877 that is now a large wine (and liquor) shop - Wijnhandel den Toom. As soon as you walk in the store you will almost get a "distillery" vibe with the brick and massive oakwood interior. Perfect! The owner let me in and gave me the chance to do my “thing”. He enjoyed the whole event and before we knew it we had 4 tastings in a few months - fully booked.
Now it is 2020 and my plan is to take over the world, but first I will now start organizing a monthly whisky tasting on a fixed date. And crank this up so more people can explore the wondrous world of whisky and share each others experiences... and have a laugh or two during the process.
