This was the moment in our exhibition that moved me the most. A couple visiting from Italy — a blind wife, led by her husband, touching each piece in our exhibit. When she reached out to feel this piece, Picasso by the artist Corrie van Leeuwen, I couldn’t resist capturing the moment in a photograph. Unlike typical paintings, fabric art has a warmth that invites touch. I am so grateful we could host this exhibition; even if it was just for this single moment, it would be worth it. Now, as Picasso makes its way to a new home in the United States and the exhibition nears its end, I hope this love will continue to be passed on — across time and space — to warm the heart of everyone who touches it.
