Deep Fried Beers / Homeroom / Sour Patchwork 2

Couple of crunchy beers from Deep Fried under their own label and “Night School” - their brewpub/pizzeria in NYC..

Homeroom is a crushable hazy pale ale, and at 5.3% is the perfect accompaniment to a hot day and a pizza. Perfect session beer!

And at the other end of the spectrum we’ve got Sour Patchwork 2 - a hugely flavoursome, thick and tart raspberry Berlinner Weisse which will blow your face apart… in a good way. Glorious!

The Prodigal Haze is well worth a shoutout - a rare Tree House TIPA, loaded with NZ and US hops and giving a huge citrus zing while somehow holding its bold flavours in balance. It’s a THIICCC brew, but begs for another sip!

Tree House Tuesday : Royal Release

Back on deck - Emperor Julius, regular Julius and three limited specials to get the blood racing.

Focusing in on Black Lotus, we’re seeing a pretty special hop combination which includes Strata CGX (Cryo) and Lotus - a relatively recent hop with Japanese lineage. End result is a juicy, giant of a beer with blackberry, strawberry citrus and even some vanilla notes to finish up. Glorious!

Hill Farmstead / Society & Solitude #7 + Amarillo

Today’s release is a bit of a spotlight on Amarillo in the safe hands of Hill Farmstead brewing. Featuring an IPA and DIPA loaded with Amarillo hops, you can expect some big citrus fruit aromas, with a punchy grapefruit bitterness and just a hint of dank pine to finish up.

The Alchemist / Crusher

This is not the “crusher” you’re used to. It’s not an easy going crushable beer, it’s not your afternoon bbq slammer, nor a beer you’re picking up a 6-pack of for an evening on the couch. It’s a crusher in that it crushes you, and any competition with Citra.

This DIPA is something of an evolution of Focal Banger and Heady Topper, with no small amount of bitterness, and with huge hop aromas and flavour. It’s a Double IPA and makes no apologies for that fact, and we absolutely love it:

Trillium Brewing Company / Mass Ave + Stillings Street

From the streets to your glass, NZ and US hops wrapped up in a creamy hazy layer of Trillium goodness. These are two glorious brews and show everything that we love about Trillium - hazy, juicy and yet still crisp and crushable with a bitter finish.

Good Fidens Friday / Jasper, Overshadow & Hatchet

All Citra all the time - doesn’t matter if it’s a work day, a Wednesday or a religious holiday - Citra hops will make it right.

Today’s three beers from Fidens are a celebration of Citra, with Jasper - the single hopped Citra DIPA that made Fidens famous, as well as two brews with Citra, some Amarillo and Galaxy to spice things up a bit.

Did we mention Citra? CITRA! It might just be the only hop where all caps are appropriate:
