Meet Ferras, one of the sweetest, warm person we met.🎈 Ferran makes wine in Penedès with 8 hectares., but really, he’s standing up for his home. To him, Penedès isn’t just a wine region; it’s the land, energy, and story. Millions of years ago, this place was underwater🐋. When the Pyrenees⛰️ rose, the ancient seabed with fossil shells pushed to the surface, a terroir full of bold character and freshness.
Ferran’s mission? To show Penedès is more than cava. Using native grapes like Xarel·lo, Carinyena Blanca, Sumoll, Malvasia, and Macabeo, he crafts unique, authentic wines. His style, The Great Lightness, is rich yet light and easy to drink, with bright acidity and vibrant energy☄️⭐️⚡️. He experiments with skin contact to enhance texture and minerality.
For Ferran, natural wine means precision and honesty, not chaos. He uses a little sulfite only when needed, carefully and sparingly.
The biggest challenge now? Drought and climate change. It means rethinking practices, irrigation, lower yields, or drought-resistant grapes to keep balance in the vineyard.
Bodega Clandestina started quietly. At first, the old-school wine world doubted him. Now Ferran is part of a new generation proud to own their roots, not trying to be Burgundy or Champagne, but letting Penedès speak for itself with sun, freshness, lightness, and flavor.✨️
