Great Joshua MacIver Resumes ₦30,000 Monthly Stipends for Opuama Elderly Women, Expands Beneficiaries from 20 to 50

Great Joshua MacIver has given the green light for the immediate resumption of monthly stipends to elderly women in Opuama Main Community, following a temporary suspension caused by unforeseen circumstances. The number of beneficiaries has also been expanded from 20 to 50.

The programme resumes this August, with payments backdated to June 2026, meaning beneficiaries will receive their outstanding stipends for June and July, so the suspension doesn't affect their entitlements.

Launched in 2023 as a direct support initiative for elderly women in Opuama, the programme has now been strengthened with this latest approval. Beyond reinstating the monthly support, MacIver has significantly expanded its reach, reaffirming his commitment to the welfare of elderly women who are often overlooked.

With this expansion, the total number of elderly women benefiting from MacIver's monthly support programme across all communities has risen to 650. At ₦30,000 per beneficiary, that's a monthly commitment of ₦19.5 million, a clear sign of his continued investment in grassroots welfare.

Emotional Stability is a Key Factor for Successful Political Leadership - Great Joshua MacIver

In a statement reflective of his respect for and belief in the centrality of the family in the African worldview, Great Joshua MacIver has insisted that unless a man is emotionally stable, he may not be trusted with the task of political leadership.

Joshua MacIver who made this statement Saturday, August 22, 2026, observed that a man who is emotionally stable in his family already had a 95% guarantee of success at political leadership.

In his words, "There are several factors that have helped me in my my leadership experiences and journey but key among them is my wife." Speaking further, MacIver who describes his wife as his backbone, noted that his family life provided him the foundation to step out and carry the burdens of political leadership.

Great Joshua MacIver who recently expressed his desire to seek the governorship ticket of the PDP in the 2027 elections in Bayelsa State, is happily married to his delectable heart throb, Sarah MacIver, and they enjoy an exemplary family life.
