IZON-TUKPA NEWS: Monthly Thanksgiving Ceremony Held in Olodiama

On Friday, 30th May 2025, Ijaw traditional worshippers gathered at the Olodiama Egbesu Temple and Un-go-mu-zu Temple in Southern Ijaw LGA, Bayelsa State, for the monthly thanksgiving ceremony. The event is held every last Friday of the month.

This month’s ceremony was led by core believers on behalf of the Great Joshua MacIver, founder of the Izon-Tukpa Movement. He was represented by Mr. Joseph Maciver, Mr. Sylvanus Maciver (Special Adviser on Operations), and Mr. Samuel Godgift Izo-Ogu.

Many attended to give thanks for peace, health, unity, and fruitfulness received in May. The gathering featured prayers, gratitude, and celebration, reflecting the strong spiritual traditions of the Ijaw people.

Great Joshua MacIver, State Coordinator, Tantita Security Services (Bayelsa Operations), Tuesday, accompanied High Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, as they joined other distinguished dignitaries at a remarkable celebration in honour of Niger Delta music icon, Jking Alfred Izonebi.

The event, which took place at Pees Hub Entertainment & Event Place along Alamieyeseigha Road, Opolo, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, marked three major milestones: the unveiling of the ultra-modern Ijaw entertainment village (IZON Tei Wari), a book launch, and Jking’s birthday celebration.

This vibrant gathering highlighted the rich cultural heritage and communal pride of the Ijaw people. The attendance of prominent figures such as Great Joshua MacIver, High Chief Pondi, and other notable guests underscored a shared commitment to celebrating local talent, encouraging indigenous entrepreneurship, and preserving Ijaw identity through arts and innovation.
