🍷 W**ery of the Week | Ca’ dei Frati 🇮🇹

This week, we travel to Lugana di Sirmione, on the southern shores of Lake Garda, to discover Ca’ dei Frati, a family w**ery whose story is closely intertw**ed with the history of Lugana w**e.
The estate was already documented in 1782, referring to “a house with a cellar” in Lugana known as *the place of the Friars* — the origin of the name Ca’ dei Frati.
The Dal Cero family arrived in 1939, when Felice Dal Cero, a w**egrower from the Verona area, moved to the historic property and recognised the extraordinary potential of the land for viticulture. After three decades working in the vineyards and cellar, his son Pietro Dal Cero became an important figure in the development of Lugana.
In 1969, Pietro participated in the creation of the Lugana DOC and began bottling the family's first w**e under the name Lugana Casa dei Frati, later renamed Ca’ dei Frati.
Today, the w**ery remains in the hands of the Dal Cero family. Following Pietro's passing in 2012, his wife Santa Rosa and children Igino, Gian Franco and Anna Maria have continued the family's legacy.
Ca’ dei Frati is now particularly recognised for its dedication to Lugana, with the family describing it as the w**e that brought the estate recognition both in Italy and internationally. Their vineyards extend around Lake Garda, with a strong emphasis on understanding each vineyard and its individual expression.
From an 18th-century “place of the Friars” to a family estate that helped shape the modern identity of Lugana, **Ca’ dei Frati is a story of heritage, vision and generations of dedication to the land.**
