INTRO: GLOW GLOW

is a genuine family project. Today the fifth and sixth generation of Baumberger’s working together in the village of Mandel to capture the energy and elegance of the Nahe region in their wines. The winery was founded in 1855 as a small mixed agricultural farm. They focus on wine and work with 15 hectares of land under the principles of organic farming.

The idea of winemaking is simple: Nothing is added, nothing is taken away. ‘We want to capture pure vividness in the wines’, is their credo. The cuvees, made of different varieties such as Riesling, Muskateller, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Noir or Dornfelder, reflect their attitude in a pure and informal way, making them authentic expressions of joy and love for the wine !

NEW IN: DOMAINE DU GRINGET

Le Domaine du Gringet - anciennement Domaine Belluard - est un domaine de 10 hectares situé à Ayse, dans le département de la Haute Savoie. Après la disparition tragique de Dominique Belluard, Vincent Ruiz reprend ses vignes en collaboration avec Franck Balthazar chez qui il travaillait.

Le domaine est situé dans la vallée de l’Arve. Ici, le cépage Gringet est roi, planté sur des coteaux extrêmement pentus sur des éboulis calcaires et moraines glaciaires. Les vinifications sont douces et peu interventionnistes, principalement en cuve béton ovoïde et en cuve inox avec quelques amphores en complément.

PORTRAIT: DOMAINE FRANCOISE & DENIS CLAIR

The domaine was established in 1986 in Saint-Aubin, Burgundy. Initially covering 5 hectares of Pinot Noir in Santenay, the estate has since grown to 15 hectares, including Chardonnay parcels in Saint-Aubin. The domaine, deeply rooted in the Clair family’s winemaking heritage, is now managed by their son, Jean-Baptiste Clair, who took over vinifications in 2011.
 
The winery practices sustainable viticulture, emphasizing a reasoned approach. Herbicides have long been replaced by plowing, and organic treatments are used whenever possible, with exceptions only in challenging vintages. The wines are aged primarily in barrels within the estate’s historic vaulted cellars in Saint-Aubin, a process that adds complexity and depth to the final product.
 
Françoise & Denis Clair is renowned for its expressive wines from the Santenay and Saint-Aubin appellations. The whites are celebrated for their freshness, vibrant acidity, and pronounced minerality, while the reds are known for their robust structure and powerful fruit. The domaine continues to uphold its reputation for quality and authenticity in Burgundy.

NEW IN: SANT ARMETTU

Perched between sea and mountains in the Sartène region of southern Corsica, Domaine Sant Armettu has a legacy that stretches back more than sixty years. Founded by Lucien and Paul Seroin, the estate takes its name from an enigmatic hermit who, captivated by the local plants, was said to possess healing powers.

In 1996, Gilles Seroin - part of the family’s third generation - joined his father and created his own winery. At Sant Armettu, the guiding principle is a deep respect for the land and the vine, with a particular focus on showcasing Corsica’s indigenous grape varieties. With a philosophy rooted in the idea of „Riacquistu“ (the reclaiming of local traditions), the estate highlights the distinctiveness of cultivars like Sciaccarellu, Minustellu, Carcaghjolu Neru, Biancu Gentile, Genovese, and Rimenese. Each of these grapes tells its own story, delivering wines brimming with fruit, complexity, and the haunting echoes of the island’s terroir.

Now, the next generation is stepping in. Guillaume Seroin, an ambitious agronomist and oenologist, joined the family business in 2020 after gaining global winemaking experience. Together, father and son—guided by a shared non-interventionist approach, minimizing inputs in both vineyard and cellar—are crafting wines that are both elegant and pleasure-driven, true reflections of their Corsican origins.

AZIENDA E.PIRA & FIGLI: PORTRAIT

Azienda E.Pira & Figli, in the heart of Barolo, Italy, is a historic winery with roots in the 17th century. Managed by Chiara Boschis and her brother Giorgio, the estate spans renowned vineyards in Cannubi, San Lorenzo, and Via Nuova.

Known for traditional winemaking, Gigi Pira was the last to practice foot treading and manual production. Since 1980, Chiara has modernized the winery while preserving its traditions, becoming a pioneering female Barolo producer. Giorgio joined in 2010, enhancing the estate with his extensive experience.

Certified organic since 2014, their meticulous and eco-friendly practices yield around 40,000 bottles annually, exclusively from estate-grown grapes. Azienda E.Pira & Figli’s Barolo wines are celebrated for their elegance and complexity, exemplifying a perfect blend of tradition and innovation.
