🇯🇵 2025年12月13日、東京のルーマニア大使館で開催されたEU･ジャパンフェスト日本委員会の年次年末会議に参加するという貴重な機会をいただきました。

この場で、ルーマニアワイン2種類をご紹介し、ワインがどのようにルーマニアと日本の絆を深める役割を果たしているかについてお話しさせていただきました。

ルーマニアのワインは、独自の文化的アイデンティティを持つ製品として、新たなつながりを生み出す力を持っています。この特別な力が、両国の関係をさらに強固にする一助となると信じています。今回のイベントを通じて、ルーマニアと日本のさらなる友情と協力への一歩を共有できたことを心から嬉しく思います。

🇬🇧 On December 13, 2025, I had the privilege of attending the Annual Year-End Meeting of the EU-Japan Fest Committee in Japan, graciously hosted by the Romanian Embassy in Tokyo.

During the event, I was honored to present two exceptional Romanian wines and share a few thoughts on how wine contributes to strengthening the bonds between Romania and Japan. As a product with a unique cultural identity, wine has the remarkable ability to create new connections and deepen the relationship between our two nations.

🇷🇴 Pe data de 13 decembrie, 2025, am participat la Reuniunea Anuală de sfârșit de an a Comitetului EU-Japan Fest din Japonia, găzduită de Ambasada României la Tokyo.

Am fost onorat să le prezint oaspeților 2 vinuri românești și să le spun câteva cuvinte despre rolul vinului în promovarea legăturilor dintre România și Japonia. Vinul face parte din categoria produselor cu o identitate culturală clară și poate juca un rol important în crearea de noi punți de legătură între cele două țări.

先日、ダニエルのワインクラブでは、市川恵子さんの詩集出版を記念した一夜限りのポエトリー・リーディングを開催いたしました。LaiQさんが手がけた美しい装画も展示される中、ゲストの皆様による心温まる詩の朗読が披露されました。

詩、アート、そしてワインが見事に融合し、参加された皆様の心に深く響くひとときとなりました。この特別な夜をご一緒いただいた皆様、本当にありがとうございました。

Last week, Daniel’s Wine Club hosted a reading event to celebrate the publication of Keiko Ichikawa’s poetry collection. Guests were treated to heartfelt readings of her poems, accompanied by an exhibition of LaiQ’s stunning cover artwork.

2024年の夏、情熱的なワイン醸造家パウル・フレアさんをお迎えし、特別なイベントシリーズを開催しました。彼は、まるで前世は日本人だったのではないかと思うほど日本との深い縁を感じさせる方です。一緒に日本各地を巡り、ルーマニアやルーマニアワインを愛する友人たちを訪ね歩きました。その中でも特に印象的だったのが、神奈川県相模大野駅から徒歩2分の「一源」のオーナー、中田翔さんとの出会いです。

「一源」は、心のこもったおもてなしが魅力のレストランです。中田さんのご厚意により、ゲストの皆様とルーマニアワインの魅力、そしてルーマニアそのものについて語り合う素晴らしい時間を過ごすことができました。そのひとときは、私がよく口にする言葉、「ワインはルーマニアの揺るぎない大使である」を改めて実感させてくれるものでした。ワインはルーマニアと日本を近づける魔法のような力を持っています。

🇬🇧 Late Post, but That’s How It Goes – Episode 1

In the summer of 2024, we organized a series of events with Paul Fulea, a winemaker with soul—and probably a Japanese in a past life. Together, we traveled across Japan and visited some friends who share a love for Romania and Romanian wine. One of these friends is Mr. NAKADA Sho, owner of Ichigen restaurant, located just a two-minute walk from Sagamiono Station in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Ichigen is truly a restaurant with heart. Mr. Nakada gave us the opportunity to share the secrets of Romanian wine and a little about Romania itself with his guests. The moments spent there remind me of something I’ve often said: wine is a steadfast ambassador of Romania. One of its magical qualities is its ability to bring Romania and Japan closer together.

If you haven’t visited Ichigen yet, I wholeheartedly recommend it. You’ll find delicious food and an impressive selection of Romanian wines, all in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

🇯🇵 ルーマニア文化研究所の日本での開所式で、名誉あるゲストの皆様の前に立つ機会をいただけたことは、大変光栄でした。

24年間日本を第二の故郷としてきたルーマニア人として、この瞬間は特別な意味を持ちます。ルーマニアと日本は、100年以上にわたり友情を育み、互いの伝統に対する敬意や好奇心、そして憧れを基盤として関係を築いてきました。

これまでに、多くの文化交流を目にしてきました。芸術や音楽、そしてワインを通じた交流もその一部です。こうした瞬間は、何千キロも離れた場所にありながら、私たち両国が共通の価値観で深く結ばれていることを思い出させてくれます。

式典では、ルーマニアを象徴する2つの特別なワインをご紹介できたことを嬉しく思います。1つ目は「Caii de la Letea Volumul 1 Aligote 2022」。ラベルには、自由と強さの象徴であるドブロジャ地方の野生馬が描かれています。

2つ目は、野生酵母で発酵させた赤ワイン「Negru de Histria Fetească Neagră Cabernet Sauvignon 2020」。このワインは、テロワールと創造性の物語を語っています。

ルーマニア文化研究所と駐日ルーマニア大使館の皆様に感謝申し上げます。この新しい架け橋を築いていただき、心からありがとうございます。

🇬🇧 It was a tremendous honor to stand before the distinguished guests at the inauguration of the Romanian Cultural Institute here in Japan.

As a Romanian who has called Japan home for 24 years, this moment holds great importance. Romania and Japan share a friendship that spans for more than one hundred years, built on mutual respect, curiosity, and admiration for each other’s traditions.

I have seen many exchanges of culture—whether through art, music, or even a glass of wine. These moments remind us that, despite being thousands of kilometers apart, our two nations are deeply connected by our shared values.

I was delighted to introduce to the distinguished guests two unique Romanian wines—expressions of our land and heritage. The first is Caii de la Letea Volumul 1 Aligote 2022. The label represents a wild horse from Dobrogea, a symbol of freedom and resilience.

The second wine is a wild yeast-fermented red, Negru de Histria Fetească Neagră Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, which tells a story of terroir and creativity.

Many thanks to the Romanian Cultural Institute and the Embassy of Romania in Japan for creating this new bridge between Romania and Japan.

試飲したのは、VSNワイナリーの「カーイ・デ・ラ・レテア Vol.2 フェテアスカ・ネアグラ 2020年」。このワインは、口当たりが柔らかく、ビロードのようなエレガンスが特徴です。テイスティングノートについては、ストーリーメニューの「お勧めワイン」セクションからご覧いただけます。
