A collaboration with Sakamichi in Tachikawa, Tokyo, this extremely crushable hazy pale ale focuses on New Zealand hops and features a blend of Rakau, Nelson, and Motueka hops for a limey top note and tropical stone fruit hop flavors with a moderately creamy body.

Karuizawa Q Ruby (Nagano)

A beautiful ruby-colored body made from raspberries and blueberries, with a fruity berry flavor and acidity, and the esters from the saison yeast and the herbal nuances from rosemary and thyme that emerge in a multi-layered accent towards the finish, showcasing the brewer's sense. An excellent fruit ale with an overall light and pleasant taste.

Following on from the Alto the other day, we now have a fantastic weizen on tap, the last remaining stock from Tainai Kogen Beer which has also decided to close down.

Tainai Kogen Beer Hoshi no Citra Weizen (Niigata)

While it has the fruity taste of a weizen, the refreshing citrus aroma and bitterness from the large amount of Citra hops added give it a clean finish, making this a crushable hoppy weizen that we recommend even to those who don't like weizen. Winner of the Silver Award in the 2023 WBA Hoppy Weizen category.

It’s a shame we won’t be able to have this great beer anymore, so this is your last chance.

This year began with the shocking news that Tainai Kogen Beer is going out of business, and the last kegs has been on tap.

Tainai Kogen Beer Tsuki no Alt (Niigata)

The rich flavor of caramel malt is nicely accented by the citrus flavor of hops, and the subtle yet clear bitterness finishes cleanly, making this one of the best Alt beer in Japan, worthy of winning the Asia Gold Award at the 2015 World Beer Awards.

ベアレン醸造所 x de Garde Cornichiwa Rice Lager (岩手)

あの米オレゴン州の雄、de Gardeとコラボしたハイブリッドなライスラガー。互いにクールシップを持つのが共通項ながら、ランビックなどベルギーにインスパイアされたde Gardeと、ジャーマンを根底とするベアレンが共作したのは、日本産米粉と米国産コーンを掛け合わせ、米国産ソラチエースでキャラクタライズした、軽くキレたボディにレモングラスやハーブなノートとクリアな苦みが全体を引き締めるフリースタイルなライスラガー。

There are some interesting collaboration beers between big names on tap.

Baeren Brewery x de Garde Cornichiwa Rice Lager (Iwate)

A hybrid rice lager made in collaboration with de Garde, the giant from Oregon, USA. While both have cool ships in common, de Garde, inspired by Belgium with lambics, and Baeren, who has German roots, have collaborated to create a freestyle rice lager that combines Japanese rice flour with American corn and is characterized with American Sorachi Ace hop. It has a light, crisp body with lemongrass and herbal notes and a clear bitterness that tightens the whole thing.

Recommended.
