世界的な旅行ガイドブック「Lonely Planet」から、四国遍路を単独テーマとしたガイドブックが発行されました。

『Lonely Planet Journey Shikoku Pilgrimage: Japan's sacred temple walk 』

この本の制作にあたり、著者の方から取材を受け、当店の写真も掲載していただきました。
さらに、60～61ページの見開き2ページにわたり、当店について触れて頂いています。

切幡寺の参道にある小さな店を取材先として選んでいただけたことを大変光栄に感じております。

1200年以上続く四国遍路の文化が、これからも国境を越えて多くの人々に受け継がれていくことを願っています。

Featured in Lonely Planet's Shikoku Pilgrimage Guide

I'm honored to share that our shop, Sumotoriya Asano Sohonten, has been featured in the newly published Lonely Planet Journey Shikoku Pilgrimage: Japan's Sacred Temple Walk.

As part of the research for the book, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by the author, and photos of our shop were also included.Even more humbling, a two-page spread (pages 60–61) is dedicated to the people who welcome and support pilgrims along the Shikoku route. Through my interview, the author explores the thoughts, experiences, and sense of connection that many local residents feel toward the pilgrimage and those who walk it.
More than 20 years ago, in my previous career, I often helped overseas guidebook writers and travel journalists research stories about Japan. Back then, opportunities to introduce the Shikoku Pilgrimage to international audiences were still quite rare.

Today, seeing a world-renowned publisher dedicate an entire guidebook to the pilgrimage is remarkable. It's a sign of how far the Shikoku Pilgrimage has come in capturing the interest of travelers from around the world.

I feel deeply honored that the author chose our small shop, located along the approach to Temple 10, Kirihata-ji, as one of the places to feature.

My hope is that the 1,200-year-old culture of the Shikoku Pilgrimage will continue to inspire people across borders and be passed on to future generations around the world.

フランス・パリのお客様からのご依頼で表装した掛軸が、早速ご自宅に飾られたとのことで、お写真をお送りいただきました。
掛軸の上には、お遍路で使われた菅笠も一緒に飾ってくださっていて、その自由な発想がとても素敵で思わず見入ってしまいました。巡礼の「記録」だけでなく、「空気感」まで一緒に飾っていただいているようで、とても嬉しく感じます。
スモトリ屋浅野総本店は、これからも世界中の皆さまの四国での大切な思い出づくりを、お手伝いできれば幸いです。

We were delighted to receive this photo from our customer in Paris, France, showing the hanging scroll I mounted for him already beautifully displayed in his rooom.
Knowing that memories from a Shikoku pilgrimage have crossed the ocean and become part of someone’s everyday life somewhere in the world brings us immense joy. As those involved in the art of scroll mounting, there is no greater happiness.
We were especially touched to see the pilgrim’s sedge hat displayed together above the scroll. Such a creative and wonderful idea. It felt as though not only the record of the pilgrimage, but also its atmosphere and spirit, had been lovingly preserved together.
It is our great pleasure to help people around the world preserve their precious memories of their Shikoku pilgrimage.

Spring has come !! Finally !!
今年もたくさんのお遍路さんとの出会いに恵まれております。中でも自転車🚲のお遍路さんが増えたような気がします。みなさん、こだわりの自転車でご来店です。早期退職後、全国を自転車で巡ってるinstagramer お遍路さんには面白い話をたくさん伺いました。オリジナルの自転車遍路ガイドブック作ったオランダからのお遍路さんはとてもエネルギッシュでした💪他にも折りたたみ自転車やママチャリ乗りの外国からのお遍路さんもおられました。

Spring is here!! Finally!!
I feel like there are more and more cyclists on the pilgrimage route. Since public transportation isn’t very well developed in Shikoku, traveling by bike is a great option.

今日は、年に一度の一日一斉おもてなし遍路道ウォークの日です！当店もお接待チームで参加してます。今年で11回目。四国全土で10,000人以上が参加されます。
今年は「越前すげ笠を守る会」の宮永さんに福井の水羊羹を持ってお接待に来て頂きました。
福井では冬に水羊羹食べるそうですよ。水羊羹大好評です！
