Something From Italy

Something From Italy I started Something from Italy because I couldn’t stop bringing Italy home with me. The food. The regions. The artisans. The people.

And yes… the souvenirs I never leave without.

🍅 Is Anyone Else Planning for Tomato Season?

We’re officially one week away from Sauce Day, and the big debate has begun…

15 bushels or 18?

But really, at the end of the day, does a bushel here or a bushel there even matter? 😂
It’s all about how many jars we have, right?

We make a lot.
We use a lot.
We give away a lot.

And this year, we’re doing something a little different—we’re sharing the tradition, the work, the laughs, and the whole sauce-making experience with about 30 of our closest friends. 🇮🇹🍅

There’s something special about tomato season. The tomatoes, the jars lined up, the smell of sauce cooking, everyone pitching in—and knowing those jars will be enjoyed long after Sauce Day is over.

One week to go.
We’ll be sharing the process along the way. In the meantime, enjoy some photos from last year's weekend of Saucy Fun!

Now tell us…

🍅 How’s your tomato season going?
Have you started yet? And most importantly—how many bushels are you doing this year?

🇮🇹☀️ Buon Ferragosto from Something From Italy! ❤️

Today, all across Italy, families and friends are slowing down, gathering around the table, heading to the beach, and simply enjoying la dolce vita.

Ferragosto is a beautiful reminder of so much of what we love about Italy—tradition, family, food, friendship, and taking the time to enjoy life together.

It’s also everything we hope to share with you in every Something From Italy box: not just products from Italy, but a little piece of the culture, the traditions, and the stories behind them.

Wherever you are celebrating today, we hope your day is filled with good food, good company, sunshine, and a little Italian spirit.

🇮🇹 Buon Ferragosto a tutti! ☀️❤️

Ciao a tutti. take a look at Eszter and Alfred's post on Mount Etna. While many places, beaches, tourist attractions and events will continue to be open and available to the tourists, we continue to watch the beauty of a wonder and marvel of the world.

Our friends, family, artists and producers are safe where they are.

Just marvel at these beautiful photos.

🌿 Have you opened your August box yet?

If you have, you've already experienced the incredible Monocultivar Olive Oil from Turturici & Sons in Trabia, Sicily.

Today, I'm sharing a special behind-the-scenes video of the Turturici family walking the local markets in Sicily where they proudly share their olive oils with their community. It's one thing to taste their oil...it's another to see the people, traditions, and culture behind every bottle. ❤️🇮🇹

One of my favorite parts of creating Something From Italy is introducing you to authentic family producers like Turturici & Sons. These are the relationships that make every box so special.

If you loved the oil in your August box, I encourage you to follow them, watch their journey through Sicily, and explore some of their other amazing flavors—including rosemary, white truffle, basil, blood orange, garlic, chili pepper, and more. Their online store is currently paused while they're back home in Trabia, Sicily, but it reopens after their trip, so it's the perfect time to start following along.

❤️ Give them a follow:

📱 Follow them on Facebook and Instagram through the links on their website.

When you support small family producers, you're helping preserve generations of tradition—one bottle at a time.
