This is just the first of many more to come. Drop a comment if you want us to visit you! Our traveling store is fully stocked with the goodness of generations.

If comfort came in a bowl, then it would be freshly made dahyatle batate. And ma makes it best. Here’s to all the women who brought us up, and the nourishing food and care they brought us up on.
Recipe details below:

If you whisk 1 cup curd with 1 tsp besan, haldi, dhaniya-jeera powder, and chilli powder, and then heat a tadka of mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves and hing, fry up some boiled and cubed aloo, and then pour in the curd mixture, add ½ cup water and simmer for 5-7 minutes — then you get creamy dahi aloo that feels like ma’s love.

Loni might be an accompaniment but thalipeeth is never complete without it. Because that’s Ajji’s way. Piping hot, smothered with white butter and served with all the love in the world. Here’s to celebrating her!
Recipe details below:

If you mix ¼ cup each of jowar flour, bajra flour, wheat atta and besan, make a dough, add in chopped onions, green chillies, kothmir, haldi, dhaniya powder, jeera powder, and salt, then take a ball of dough, pat it flat and pan fry it in a little bit of oil — you get the perfect thalipeeth. Top it with loni and enjoy a true-blue Maharashtrian breakfast that is packed with nourishment and nostalgia.
