Vintage Hub turns two today, and so does the journey of building a dream project, powered every step of the way by a solid, unwavering team.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has chosen to be a part of the Vintage Hub family : those who have worked tirelessly to shape it into a better enterprise, those who have travelled from far and wide to experience it, and those who have carried our story to distant corners.

Word-of-mouth marketing (WOMM) remains our greatest strength, and we look forward to your continued support as we strive to become even more impactful and ambitious in the year ahead.

On our second anniversary, we are delighted to introduce three new additions: the office space of Vintage Assam Publications, the Research Scholars’ Cabin, and Jajabor’s Retreat. In the coming days, we will also unveil an extensive section dedicated to curios and souvenirs.

Mondays are meant to be our day off. Yet, with so many visitors coming from afar, we find myself at Vintage Hub all week long.

This election season, Vintage Hub has quietly become a preferred retreat for senior bureaucrats : an oasis of calm amid the rigours of duty. Just a while ago, we had the privilege of hosting two distinguished officers: Silpa Prabhakar Satish, IAS (General Observer), and B. Jyoti Kiran, IRS (Expenditure Observer). They were overawed by the space and have promised to visit again before their departure from Jorhat.

Ms. Satish also shared a striking reflection on Jorhat:

“In the last twenty days, I’ve come to feel that Jorhat is every bit as intellectual as Kolkata or Thiruvananthapuram. The difference, however, lies in its quiet grace. The people here carry their intellect with remarkable humility. There is an aristocracy, certainly, but it does not seek display.”

This month’s guest at Vintage Hub (এই মাহৰ আলহী) was the celebrated filmmaker Rima Das, who took Assamese cinema to the Oscars. Also present in the evening yesterday was “Dhunu” (Bhanita Das), who rose to fame through Village Rockstars.

In the interaction with film enthusiasts, Rima Das spoke about her journey as a filmmaker, especially about her struggles in Mumbai as an aspiring actress, stories we had the privilege of hearing directly from her. She also spoke about her favourite films. The conversation further touched upon the making of her recently released film ‘Village Rockstars 2’, as well as ‘Not a Hero’, which received tremendous appreciation from audiences at the Berlin International Film Festival. She also generously shared her experiences as a cinema lover in Berlin. She was impressed and inspired by the sincerity and commitment of the Germans to mak meaningful films for children, something that truly deserves appreciation.

Thank you, Rima Das. The warmth and affection you showed will always be remembered by the Vintage Hub family. We look forward to meeting again. We are immensely proud of your success. Also extending our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended the event.

Yesterday was International Women’s Day, and we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming an extraordinary woman to our Hub.

She is a National Badminton Champion of India and a gold medalist at the SAARC International Badminton Championships.

Today, she continues to inspire the next generation as a mentor at Badminton Gurukul, an initiative of Pullela Gopichand. Recently, she was also featured in the January edition of Drilling & Exploration World as one of nine inspirational women in India’s petroleum industry.

Nearly a week ago, Christmas was celebrated with a live music performance. It was our second such evening in a month, and a special one at that. For Amitabh Baruah, it marked his first solo performance in his hometown in twenty years. He held the audience spellbound with exquisite instrumental interpretations of evergreen compositions by RD Burman, Bhupen Hazarika and Zubeen Garg. As one visitor from Calcutta observed that evening, “The ambience here is unlike anything else in the Northeast. I did not miss Park Street for a moment during the performance.”
