South Africa. Bottled. 🇿🇦 🍷

Swartland Pinotage is medium to full-bodied red fruit forward wine with earthy dusty tones and mild spicy flavours in the background, while the light oaking accentuates flavours of plum and red berry fruit. Well-balanced with juicy tannins.

Intense colour with aromas of forest fruit and rosemary.
In the mouth it is balanced, long and very persistent.

Typical tropical guava flavours supported by passion fruit and underlying citrus blossom flavours. The wine is full and rich on the palate with a crisp finish.

A great summer wine, Chenin Blanc is originally from the Loire Valley in France and was one of the first grapes planted in South Africa in 1655, it is known locally as Steen. It produces a wine with good acidity of floral mineral and citrus aromas and flavours.

Valditerra Dolcetto 'Anno Zero'
From a tiny vineyard in Francavilla Bisio, where the grapes are harvested by hand and taken to the cellar with a small trailer, destemmed and sent to the steel vat where they undergo a cold pre-fermentation maceration of 48 hours, with protection from oxidation through the use of CO2. This technique allows to best extract all the aromatic and polyphenolic components, to obtain a fresh, young red wine, suitable for any occasion.
Ruby red colour, good aroma, hints of red fruit with a light spicy final note.
Have it with cold meats, cheeses, salad or, but of course, pizzaaaa.

The grapes for the Verdicchio Baccaloro from Laila Libenzi grow on the rolling hills around the small village of Corinaldo in the Marches.
The wine is made under the direction of the top Italian winemaker Lorenzo Landi.
After the harvest the grapes are gently pressed and the alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The temperature is kept cool and the whole process takes approx 15 days.
The result is a Verdicchio with soft aromas of citrus, white fruit and flowers. A light orange bitter finish in the aftertaste.
Great with fish, roast chicken or just on its own.

Sardinia doesn’t only have Cannonau and Vermentino.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Cagnulari, this characteristic red wine takes its name from the ancient Roman road that connected the cities of Carbia and Nure in the Alghero coast.
Intense ruby red colour, with nose of ripe red fruits and a hint of jam. Balanced taste, well structured with velvety tannins.

Excellent paired with cured meats and mature cheeses and, of course, Sardinian cuisine and game.

The Wine Buff Nenagh

The Wine Buff Nenagh began life in 2004 on Kickham street and relocated to a bigger, brighter new premises on Cecil Walk in October 2010. The new shop is located a stone’s throw off Kenyon Street adjacent to the town centre car park. There is ample parking right outside the front door of the shop. The shop is open 5 days per week.

Owner and manager, Alexis Kelly and her husband Davy, are great fans of the old vino and have travelled throughout Europe on educational forays into the wine growing regions; they even have been known to partake in the odd glass or two along the way. If you're looking for a gift, something special or a bottle to enjoy then Alexis will be delighted for you to call in, for some advice and a chat, you'll be glad you did. So see you soon in Cecil Walk.
