It's the start of the new year and the start of a new collaboration for us with two events at Dublin Cookery School. What's more - they do all the cooking at these special popup dining nights! This award winning school is situated right here in Blackrock with state of the art facilities. Their 3,000 square foot design has three distinctive areas: a demonstration kitchen; a hands on kitchen and a dining room.
Our own Eóin Shiel will be representing us at 'Toyko Ramen Bar' on the 6th February. Inspired by the distinct flavours of the traditional Japanese izakaya and the luscious, savoury notes from bowls of ramen, Dublin Cookery School have certainly struck gold in terms of the delicious/satisfaction quotient here. The night will open with a quick demo to highlight one or two of their favourite dishes from the menu and then jump right into the world of craft beers where you can expect to compare and contrast a carefully curated selection of five beers chosen by Eóin to complement various aspects of the menu. You'll then choose your favourite beers to enjoy with both your starter and main courses.
Our other expert, Ross Turner, will be taking part in 'Tour de France - the Languedoc-Roussillon region' on the 21st February. South-West France is what gastronomic dreams are made of. With outstanding local ingredients like cèpes, walnuts and jambon de bayonne to specialties like salade landaise and cassoulet, Lynda and her team at Dublin Cookery School have got a terrific mélange of ideas to play with.
You can expect to start off the night with a quick Demo to highlight one or two of our favourite dishes from the menu and then jump right into this region's love for wine, led by Ross. He'll compare and contrast a carefully curated selection of five wines chosen to complement various aspects of the menu and you'll then choose your favourite glasses to enjoy with both your starter and main courses.
