We are incredibly excited to announce our very first Meet the Winemaker evening in Cork, featuring none other than Paolo Di Camillo, head winemaker at Di Camillo Vini, who will be joining us for one unforgettable midsummer evening. Taking place on Friday, June 20th, 2025, in the private dining room of Jacob’s on the Mall, this intimate event is limited to just 30 guests – and promises to be a real highlight of our summer calendar.

Di Camillo Vini is a family-run estate based in the hilltop town of Poggiofiorito, overlooking Italy’s Adriatic coast. Founded in 1887, the winery is now helmed by Paolo, with the help of his daughter Sara, and together they continue the legacy of approachable, elegant wines that have become favourites of WineOnline.ie customers for over 25 years. On the night, we’ll explore 10 exceptional wines from the estate, from delicate sparkling Spumante to the flagship Contessa Camilla Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and a special library release from 2011, served from a Jeroboam.

Decanter’s esteemed regional editors have tasted and scored some of the finest wines from around the world, awarding them between 95 and 100 points. Whether you’re doing Dry January or even just ‘Damp’ January the good news is, you don’t have to give up wine entirely! The world of no alcohol wines has come on leaps and bounds in recent years, offering a fantastic selection of options for every palate.

So what is our favourite wine alternative on the market? Have you tried Copenhagen Sparkling Tea? This is a completely different beverage category. It’s made by brewing tea (white, green, black, or herbal) and then carbonating it to create bubbles. Some producers may add fruit juices, herbs, or spices for extra flavour complexity. Sparkling tea is naturally low in calories and caffeine (depending on the tea used) and offers a refreshing, sophisticated alternative to alcoholic drinks.
