🌟“Responsible Choices. Professional Service.” Seminar
Building a Solid Foundation for Future F&B Professionals!🔨

As a board member of the Hong Kong Forum for Responsible Drinking (FReD), SMBHK was honored to be invited to the International Culinary Institute to conduct a “Responsible Choices. Professional Service.” seminar for 50 year-one students from the Higher Diploma in W**e and Beverage Business Management!

As future members of the hospitality and beverage industry, these students are at the beginning of their professional journey in exploring w**e and food & beverage operations🔎. Through this seminar, we aimed to help them develop a responsible attitude towards alcohol consumption, while deepening their understanding of the responsibilities and obligations associated with alcohol service. We also explored how hospitality professionals can exercise sound judgement, comply with legal requirements, safeguard guest wellbeing, and deliver high-quality, responsible service experiences.💯

🏫Going forward, we will continue to collaborate with different institutions to promote a culture of responsible and moderate drinking and help make these principles a shared understanding across the industry. Together, we can foster a healthier and more positive drinking environment, where enjoying alcoholic beverages moderately becomes part of a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.🍻

【SMBHK Volunteer Team x TWGHs | Wellness Booth & Workshop @ Airside 💚】

From September 4 to 6, our volunteer team partnered with TWGHs for a 3-day horticultural therapy booth and workshop at Airside, bringing the healing vibes of gardening to everyone 👐🏻🎍

What made this event especially meaningful is that we used the ceramic kenzans that we made earlier with the TWGHs JCRC residents. Residents took the lead in demonstrating and sharing how they were made, with our volunteers supporting them along the way. It was awesome to see the public not only try it out themselves, but also withness firsthand the skills and talents of the residents 👍🏻

From farming up on the TWGHs rooftop, to shaping clay with residents, and finally sharing the results with the public today – our volunteer team was there every step of the way:

"This journey started with soil and ended with sharing. Seeing the residents confidently introduce their work, and watching the public go from curiosity to genuine impressed – it was deeply moving. Horticultural therapy heals not just the residents but every one of us too. Inclusion is not just a concept – we’re making it real"

Beyond the workshop, our volunteers also hung out with the residents to visit the farm garden and Well Market. Lots of walking, exploring, and endless laughing—everyone went home with a happy heart🎁💝

Our SMBHK volunteer team recently returned to TWGHs Jockey Club Rehabilitation Complex, where we joined residents in making 100 ceramic pin frogs for future planting projects🌱🏡 From the rooftop farm day in May to this hands-on workshop, we've witnessed our green journey continues to grow through meaningful connections and shared experiences🤲🏻🫶🏻

"When will you come back?" – a simple question from a resident at the end of the session. It was the most heartfelt reminder of the impact these volunteer efforts can make🥹🥰📸

Thank you to all colleagues who took part and made this so meaningful.

It's all possible because of you💞

For the first time, SMBHK teamed up with 📍the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences at City University of Hong Kong to bring b**r tasting into the realm of positive living – unlocking a sensory journey with warmth and meaning for our students🔓

This workshop went beyond brewing techniques and food pairing – we put the spotlight on the sensory experience👀👂🏻 Through blind tasting, hands-on pouring experience, and our "Sips & Sounds" challenge, students crafted their own personalised playlists with our signature San Miguel b**rs, awakening their taste, smell and hearing across a variety of immersive settings.

More than just a tasting session, our goal was to inspire students to be present, open their senses, and discover their own rhythm of positive living🔋💪🏻

A big thank you to all the CityU students for your energy and smiles🥹🥳 – your enthusiasm is what drives us to keep bringing these experiences to campuses everywhere!
