Cathay Pacific and Domaine de Long Dai are proud to announce the renewal of their partnership for the second consecutive year, offering passengers a refined tasting experience that celebrates the excellence of Chinese terroir.
From July through September 2025, Long Dai will once again be served in First Class across all Cathay Pacific long-haul and ultra-long-haul flights, with the 2021 vintage. This year, the offering is further enhanced with the introduction of Hu Yue 2021 in Business Class, served in rotation with other premium wines.
This collaboration is part of Cathay Pacific’s Discovery Wine Series, a programme launched in 2020 to bring thoughtfully curated, high-quality wines from around the world to passengers in the sky.
“We are pleased to continue this journey with Cathay Pacific and share with travellers from across the globe the distinctive identity of the Qiu Shan Valley and the broader Shandong Peninsula,” said Charles Tretenaere, Managing Director of Domaine de Long Dai. “This partnership is not only a celebration of fine winemaking, but also a meaningful recognition of China’s emerging place on the world wine map.”
Showcasing the Terroir of Shandong
Long Dai 2021 is a bold yet elegant red wine crafted from carefully selected Bordeaux varietals. It reveals deep notes of black fruit, cedarwood, and spice, balanced by fine tannins and a lively freshness — the hallmark of its hillside vineyards in Penglai.
Hu Yue 2021, served in Business Class, is a more accessible but equally expressive wine. With aromas of red berries, dried flowers, and a signature minerality, it embodies the finesse and precision of the estate’s younger vines and is particularly well-suited to high-altitude enjoyment.
“At Cathay Pacific, we understand that wine behaves differently at 30,000 feet,” said Mr. Khoo, Wine, Spirits and Beverages Manager at Cathay Pacific. “We look for wines that maintain their expression inflight — and both Long Dai and Hu Yue perform beautifully, with richness, balance, and aromatic clarity that stand up to the cabin environment.”
