If you’re in need of a top up for the Easter weekend we’re here until 5pm today and open on Saturday from 10:30 to 16:30 (closed Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday).

Here’s a little selection we’ve put together that would see you through whatever you’ve got planned.

Hello Spring! It feels like we’ve turned a corner with the warmer weather and the lighter mornings and longer days and there’s a sense of anticipation with the birds singing and the blossom emerging.

There’s always something new around the corner in the wine world, whether it’s a new vintage of an old favourite, a new wine from an old region or an altogether brand new grape variety!

This week we’ve had a delivery from our Loire Valley Producer Domaine Girard containing two of the above. New vintage Muscadet le Fleuron and two brand new wines.

A fantastic sparkling white L’Othentique Vin Mouseeuc Brut Méthode Traditionnelle and a brilliant Pinot Gris.

Both available to buy now in the shop and online, and we’re sure that they will become firm customer favourites.

There was a bit of a twist with our February Wine Wednesday as all the wines were tasted blind!

Needless to say it was a very entertaining evening and I think a few people surprised themselves with how much they knew and had learnt by coming along to our Wine Wednesday tastings over the last two years.

Big thanks to Sandy from Hatch Mansfield who hosted a great tasting.

March Wine Wednesday - which is 2 weeks today - sees a return to our usual format and you’ll know what you’re tasting up front! Our host will be Adam from ABS Wines and the word “Villa” will be the common theme!

Introducing our three newest wines which have arrived this week and are from the brilliant producer Bodegas Coloma.

A red, a white and a rosé and all available to taste in the shop tomorrow. Not only that but Felix from Coloma will be joining us between 12 and 4 - an amazing opportunity to taste the wines and hear the story behind them and the details of how they’re produced.

It’s fantastic to welcome Ivana from back to York.

If you’ve already bought tickets for our first Wine Wednesday of the year which is taking place tomorrow, then you’re in for a treat!

Ivana will be taking us through all 8 of the Il Botolo wines we stock, and the Metodo Classico will be on taste for the first time here in the UK.

It's National Cheese Lover's Day! 🧀🍷

There's no disputing that cheese and wine remain one of life's great pairings. Not least because there are so many cheeses and so many wines and it's simply great fun to try out different combinations.

So it's the perfect excuse to grab your favourite cheese and pair it with the perfect wine. From creamy Brie paired with a fresh young Chardonnay, to a moreishly mature Cheddar complemented by a rich and bold Cabernet Sauvignon.
