Not sure about you, but Storm Austen is giving us serious ‘hunker down with chocolate and Champagne’ vibes. 🌧️🍫🥂

It’s blustery and miserable out there, but it’s cosy inside at Kingsgate, and a fresh delivery of .de.paris chocolates has landed just in time.

French chocolate, a glass of and absolutely no plans to go back out again, sounds like a pretty good Friday to us.

Autumn: the cosy food edit

Soup season is officially here, and we’ve got all the good things for a cosy lunch or an easy supper.

From Karine & Jeff Provençal soups and squash & carrot bisque, to Tideford Organics Ⓥ lentil & spinach dhal to traditional Crustarmor classic French fish soup and Borough Broth Bone Broth - there’s plenty to warm you up as the evenings draw in.

Supplier spotlight: ChalkStream®

A little love for one of our lovely local suppliers, ChalkStream, who supply us with some rather beautiful trout. 🐟

As we move from summer into autumn, trout is one of those things that works brilliantly with the change of season. Think warm new potatoes, beetroot, horseradish, dill, crème fraîche, good bread and a crisp glass of English w**e. Basically, all the good things.

Their cold smoked trout is brilliant for a quick lunch or supper, while the smoked trout pâté is one for the fridge when you need something delicious with very little effort.

Pop in and pick some up, and if you need a few ideas for what to do with it, just ask. We’re very happy to talk trout.

Good coffee is coming to this side of town.

We’re very excited to have Blue Hour Coffee popping up at Kingsgate W**es Provisions from Thursday 8th - Saturday 10th October, serving coffee to take away, alongside tastings and bags of their lovely beans to take home.

So whether you’re on your way to work, doing the school run, heading into town or simply in need of a very good coffee, come and say hello.
