What’s happening over June & July?

We’ve got a few evenings in the diary that we’re really excited about - celebrating brilliant wines, local producers and our favourite things to eat.

Think garden drinks, English sparkling, seasonal pours, cocktails, canapés and some of our favourite suppliers all in one place.

Coming up:

- 11th June: Garden Hang with showcasing fab wines

- 25th June: English Wine Week tasting

- 2nd July: ******er : a showcase of some amazing local producers, with canapés, fizz, cocktails and more

Our baskets are looking very good right now 🍷

Long, hot evenings calls for bottles that are fresh, easy and very drinkable. A few favourites from the shelves this week…

Basket 1: - NEW IN
Fresh on the shelves and already causing a bit of excitement. Organic wines from Abruzzo that are bright, clean and seriously easy to love. The Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo rosé is all juicy cherries and sunshine energy, while the reds and whites are the kind you open with friends and suddenly realise the bottle’s disappeared.

Basket 2: Yves Duport
For anyone leaning into lighter, chilled summer drinking. Beautiful bottles from Bugey with loads of freshness and personality. L’Intact is exactly the sort of thing we want in a glass right now - vibrant, fruity and made for warm evenings, picnic rugs and aperitivo moments.

Basket 3: Les Caves Cathédrales
Fun labels, low-intervention wines and bottles with plenty of character. These are the wines for grazing boards, snacks appearing on tables and the inevitable “what are we opening next?” conversation.

The weather’s doing its usual British thing again…
One minute we’re eating outside, the next it feels like October. Either way, the chiller is looking very good right now.

We’ve stocked it with some brilliant things for staying refreshed, balanced and generally feeling a bit more human:

Good food, good wine and something to share.

We’re leaning into longer, sunnier evenings with a few of our favourites added to our basket (scroll to add more) - tortilla chips with salsa, crisps (La Via en Rose flavour is amazing with a Spitz or rosé), and a generous spread of Brindisa Iberico ham alongside British charcuterie from and

Add strawberries, perfect with cheese or dropped into something sparkling, and finish with a pinch of salt on top of bbq’d meat.

We’re now stocking .and.rose! Small-batch artisan gelato, made on their family farm in the Hampshire countryside. It’s been flying out of the freezer too (these are the last 3 tubs) but don’t worry, we’re getting another delivery this Friday! Come and check out the flavours (all locally sourced). ******er

We’re so excited to kick off our season of Garden Hangs and tastings at the St George (event space of ).

What better way to do so, than by raising a glass to Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, with all ticket proceeds going to the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, supporting the wonderful outdoor spaces around us.

Expect a simple evening of vino, nibbles, local beers, and something sweet from .and.rose gelato.

There will be a lucky dip for the younger ones and a raffle to win ÂŁ40 worth of goodies to fill up and borrow our back pack hamper or a day.

Come by, have a glass, and stay a while.

What’s new?

We’ve been unboxing some very good things - .gourmet bringing beautifully crafted Portuguese conservas, from stuffed squid in ink to octopus in olive oil and garlic.

Alongside that, scallops in a rich caldeirada sauce from - a traditional Portuguese blend of tomatoes, garlic and olive oil, made for seafood.

And from , the most moreish savoury biscuits - Tomme des Pyrénées (a creamy, nutty French mountain cheese) with a touch of black pepper for warmth.

The kind of bits made for longer evenings, something cold in hand, and a table outside.
