We're sad to say that after 13 years on Parchment Street we will be closing. I (Cat) moved to Wi******er to open this shop and I count myself very lucky to have met such a wonderful set of people that I now call friends. I'll be taking so many good memories with me and I thank everyone for trusting me to choose their wine all these years!

Unfortunately it is no longer sustainable for us to continue, and so we will be closing within the next two weeks. People always want to ask 'what went wrong?' - it's never just one thing, but several, and we just can't weather this storm.

We're running a sale to get the remaining stock sold - but we also have furniture and glassware etc so please pop in and help us clear out!

Please continue to show your support for our local independent businesses - they are the lifeblood of Wi******er.

Last night our wine club tried this excellent Spanish Albarino at £16.70. Drink it ice cold and it's the perfect fresh, zesty glass of wine in the sunshine (come on weather!), but let it warm up a bit and it becomes a real foody treat - lush, lightly tropical fruit. An absolute winner whatever the outside conditions are! ******er

Easter red: Campo alle Comete Bolgheri £31.40, this classic Bordeaux blend wowed Cat when she tried it back in January declaring it the perfect Supertuscan for her Easter Lamb! Beautifully plummy character, with dashes of blackcurrant fruit and notes of chocolate. The finish has those classic ripe Bolgheri tannins with a hint of to***co smoke. Easter Sunday: If you're eating rare rack of lamb on Sunday then we'd highly recommend serving Vietti's beautiful Nebbiolo £31.60 with it. This is the Barolo grape variety but with more generous red berry fruit. Wonderfully aromatic, with a full, ripe palate and spicy hints on the finish. Last night our wine club tried this delicious Rhone red at £17.80. Made in a fruity, easy drinking style this is ideal served lightly chilled to enhance the gorgeous red berry fruit. We were all impressed with it - this is summer red in a glass. We can't wait for a bit more sunshine and warmth as this is going to be perfect enjoyed al fresco with some BBQ food! ******er

New: Sella & Mosca Vermentino £15.40. Cat fell in love with this vibrant Sardinian white back in January - lightly tropical fruit, a rounded body with a touch of sea-saltiness about it punctuated by a fresh, herbal finish.
