We have teed up a collab with a local business and we are gonna be showcasing the BEST pairings!! 🙌🙌🙌

We have legit done our research into this!! Tried various different cocoa contents with many different wines. Around 40 combos, all told!! Including one really quirky one that we think is an absolute WINNER!! 👌🍾🥂

ROLL UP ROLL UP!!

We've sold 24 or 34 of our tickets for our Planeta Tasting on Tues 17th June!!

Penny from the winery will be talking us through the wines and we will be laying on the cheese & charcuterie!! We will be doing this over both floors of the shop, so it is a bit of an experiment for us: but one we think should work well!!

London tends to get most of the focus when people from TOP wineries come to the UK, but if we sell out our 34 spaces, we will be the best selling event they're doing on that trip!!

So come on Wetherby - JOIN IN and keep these top winery visits coming to OUR town!!

Wetherby!! You've met the team here at OUAV!! Rich, Susie, Lauren, Martha, Simon, Lars, Bethan and Lee have all worked at 4 Cross Street thus far!! Soon there'll be a new member joining the team as alas Bethan has decided to move on! Her important "proper job" involves a lot of travel and she is going to make a HUGE success of it! We wish her all the best and she is a team mate for life! Good luck Bethan!! 😘🥳

Before we bring our new colleague into the fray - we should introduce our mascot, Rodney The Christmas Elf!! He's been on MANY travels with OUAV! California, cricket at Lord's, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Tenerife to name a few!!

He will make an appearance at the shop from time to time and you may see him hiding in the background of some of our pictures!! Keep your eyes peeled!! 'sRodney

Greywacke Riesling on BY-THE-GLASS from today, all weekend!!

If you think you don't like Riesling: consider this... My headstone will read "I WISH I DRANK MORE RIESLING" - Simon. And I work in the wine trade with unfettered access to any and all wine!! If you're a Sauvignon Blanc fan, then just have a go with Rielsing, it is SO MUCH more interesting!!

Greywacke is very approachable - dry, crisp, limey, sherbet-y and lip-smackingly drinkable.
