The newspapers arrived Late today…
So Ess promised most of our elderly customers that he will hand deliver them to their houses once they arrive to save them the hassle of having to come out again in the cold weather.
As he was about to leave for this round, he ran back into the shop grabbed a crunchie bar and left.
Upon his return I questioned why he did that?
He replied: “I took it for Alan. His wife died last year she used to buy him his paper and a crunchie several years ago, before she got dementia. I just want him to relive that moment. He deserves it.
Alan looked after his wife until the end. He didn’t stick her in a care home like anybody else would he stuck by her through thick and thin. You should have seen his face light up he almost broke down in tears from such a small gesture.
We’re not just a village shop we’re a part of something much bigger. We are a part of this community a piece of the furniture in Hatton Park for over a Decade. We make sure our community is looked after.”
It’s amazing to have this guy back in store!
