It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the passing of our dear Janet Atkinson.
Janet was more than an employee to us—she was family. We’ve had the privilege of knowing her for over 30 years, and she truly was a part of our lives, our community, and our shop. The loss of Janet leaves a profound emptiness in our hearts, but we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, free from the health struggles she faced in recent years.
Janet was a force of nature. To many of us, she was ‘Superwoman,’ a tireless, kind, and caring soul who made a lasting impact on all of us. She wasn’t just part of our work family—she was at every table, celebrating with us, supporting our children, and being an unwavering presence in our lives. She helped shape Balne Lane Convenience Store into what it is today, and for that, we will forever be grateful.
For those who knew the shop as ‘Janet’s Shop,’ you’ll understand just how much of her heart and soul she poured into this place. She dedicated 30 years of hard work and love to the shop, and we’ll miss her more than words can say.
