The FIFA World Cup is less than a month away. Is your venue ready?
Billions of viewers. Packed outlets. Late-night kick-offs. This is one of the biggest trading opportunities your venue will see in 2026, but it takes planning to make the most of it.
Licensing is the first thing to get right. The government has confirmed extended licensing hours for Home Nation matches (England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland), so for fixtures kicking off at 9pm or earlier, your venue can stay open until 1am without needing a Temporary Event Notice (TEN).
For matches starting at 10pm or later, a TEN is still required. England have at least one group stage game in that window, and the same could apply to knockout fixtures if they progress. You only get 15 TENs per year, so use them wisely.
Here's a quick checklist to get ahead 📋
1️⃣ Make sure your TV Licence covers public performance
2️⃣ Check your premises licence includes outdoor garden areas
3️⃣ Apply for TENs now for any 10pm+ kick-offs that need them
4️⃣ Notify neighbours if you're planning extended hours
5️⃣ Review whether polycarbonate glassware is needed
Stock is the other piece of the puzzle. We're here to make sure your bar is ready for every minute of every match.
Plan your World Cup order now.
