Independent and owned by 2 local brothers since 2006 we aim to offer a different and better shopping experience for our customers. As well as all of the everyday essentials at competitive prices we stock a wide range of unique and delicious products from small and local producers. We employ local staff, many of whom have been with us for many years and our regular customers are generally greeted by their first names, you will always we assured of a warm welcome in our stores.

It is with regret that today 26th August 2025 we have to announce that have taken the decision to sell Maloney’s Budgens but we are pleased to confirm that Sainsbury Supermarkets Ltd have acquired the business.

The store will cease trading on a date to be confirmed but will be towards the end of October. After a period of refurbishment the store will re-open as a Sainsbury’s Local.

Our staff will transfer to the new retailer, Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd.

We thank our loyal customers and our staff for their efforts over the 17 years and will support them through the sale process. We anticipate that business will carry on as usual over the next weeks and hope that we can count on our customers support during this time.

We have not taken this decision lightly but in the current economic climate we feel that a stronger retail brand will give our staff greater job security, career progression and provide a sustainable retail proposition for the village of Virginia Water.
