🕺🏻FATHER'S DAY AT THE COFFEE SHOP☕🥪

Bring your dad - or grandad! - to the Coffee Shop on Sunday between 9am and 12 noon and make his day with a delicious bacon roll* and a hot drink for £5 a head.

Drop in between now and then to get ahead with a Father's Day card from the shop... and while you're about it, pick up a bottle of Laithwaites white or rose wine, currently on special offer at £9.99.

🌞 's arrived, and with it some sensational offers to look out for in the Wine Cellar. Both of our rosé wines - Cabalié and Moulin de Pontfract - are currently on promotion at a very drinkable £10.49 a bottle - and delicious they are too. If you love rosé, make sure you pick some up before the weekend!

And talking of Open Gardens... 🪷a quick reminder that the Village Shop is open from 9am to 4.30pm on Sunday for sandwiches, drinks, crisps, ice cream, pastries and pies - and we are also a raffle ticket selling station with some amazing prizes. 🌞

🤗MEET THE VILLAGE SHOP VOLUNTEERS!🤗

Meet Izzy, 17, one of our youngest volunteers at the Village Shop. Having achieved her bronze and silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards, she is now working towards her gold award in volunteering. This requires her to volunteer for a year, so she works for us on Sunday mornings, once a month. Izzy is in charge of the Coffee Shop and also spends half the morning on the till.

The Village Shop is always looking for friendly faces to join our team. The volunteers are vital to the smooth running and success of the shop. We're at the heart of the community: a place for locals to shop, chat and connect - and it's a fun place to volunteer.

We'd love more help serving customers at the till or coffee shop, stocking shelves and sharing a smile and a conversation. You'll get to meet people and be an active part of village life, either taking a regular shift or working on an ad hoc basis. Ask in the shop or email Jenny Stewart on [email protected] or Julie on [email protected] if you would like to join this fun and friendly group of villagers.

SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL LATEST

Plans are taking shape for the Steeple Ashton Sunflower Festival, proceeds from which are kindly being donated to Village Shop essential projects. Drop into the shop to get your tickets for the fun Sunflower Supper & Raffle in the Longs Arms on 13 June. Also pick up your sunflower seeds and get growing! SAGE will be judging the sunflower competition, so make sure that yours are blooming!

Easter gifts and cards, hot cross buns, biscuits, cakes and decorations are all on sale at the Steeple Ashton Village Shop. Please call the shop (01380 871211) to place your Easter weekend order for continental pastries (croissants, pain au chocolat, Danish) by Wednesday 1 April.

Meet Laura - the friendly face of our Post Office. She is in the shop every Wednesday 9.30am to 1.20pm to help with all your Post Office needs.

Did you know we are also a parcel collection point? If you are not going to be at home, why not collect from the shop? You can also order your daily/weekly newspaper or magazine for collection too - and whilst you’re here have a look around and make a couple of purchases.
