We're pretty familiar in Swansea with the old Beaujolais - and the distinct banana aromas created by carbonic maceration, a unique w**emaking technique most famously used with Gamay grapes, are a bit of a giveaway if you know what you're sniffing for!

This week's w**e pick is Brash Higgins MCC.

A blend of Mataro, also known as Mourvedre or Monastrell, Cinsault and Carignan from McLaren Vale in South Australia. Sweet red fruit contrasts the spiciness on the palate and finishes clean, dry and focused with rose petal and cherry notes. Delicious and perfect for those late August BBQ's as the nights draw in!
