Last month we made the difficult decision to discontinue one of our eight home news delivery rounds, leaving us with seven routes still in operation. Due to reduced demand the round had been operating at a loss for sometime.

We received a thank you card from one of our customers this week with the following message:

‘Just a note to say thank you so much for the excellent service received in delivering my daily Sunderland Echo since Covid. I do believe not one day was missed nor any error ever made. Superb! Even though I’m sorry to lose this service, I do understand the circumstances and I can only wish you every continued success going forward. You are a credit to your industry and to the public. Sincere thanks.’
