W**es by the Glass this evening in Withey’s Yard 🍷

W**es for Autumn!

Try a white from the mountainous Savoie region in France made from the native Jacquère variety with notes of almond, orange zest, citrus fruit and hazelnuts, with a wonderful minerality on the finish.

New in, we have just added the white from Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola to our range. One of the most respected w**emakers in South East Spain, this is a delicious blend of Viognier, Macabeo, Merseguera and Moscatel. A truly Mediterranean w**e with flavours of Jasmine, citrus, mandarin peel, orange blossom and fennel. It has a wonderful richness and salinity making it a great partner with seafood.

For reds, we have Cantine Povero 🍷 Italian W**es Marida Barbera open, one of our most popular Italian producers from Piedmont. This is so easy drinking with red cherries, plums and spice. Perfect for the Autumn weather.

Thank you to Laurie for hosting our Beyond Malbec Tasting which focused on some fantastic w**es from Argentina 🇦🇷 and Uruguay 🇺🇾 🍷

It was a hugely enjoyable and entertaining evening, he was an amazing host and we were very lucky to have him share his knowledge 🤩

From Torrontes grown in some of the highest vineyards in the world, to Albariño in the coastal vineyards of Montevideo. The reds included a delicious Criolla Chica grown from wild vines in San Martin, in Mendoza to a full bodied voluptuous Petit Verdot which much like Malbec, has its home in Bordeaux but shines in South America 🇺🇸

I was lucky enough to visit Domaine André Colonge earlier this year and taste through their w**es, all of which were exceptional!

This year we will be selling their 2026 Beaujolais Nouveau Villages and celebrating with a tasting in Withey’s Yard on the night 🥳

We are doing a big discount on Pre orders of 6 bottles or more until Tuesday 6th of October.

Organic and Biodynamic Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, Pecorino and Skin Contact Malvasia from Abruzzo in central east Italy. £16.95 🇮🇹

BIO Cantina Sociale Orsogna are one of Italy’s leading organic and biodynamic cooperatives and focus on Abruzzese varieties made in a traditional yet sustainable way. 🌱

The Montepulciano is rich, full bodied and smooth with a lovely classic Italian acidity. Plum, dark cherry and blackberry with spice and savoury notes. One for our Primitivo loving customers!

The Pecorino has ripe fruit flavours of pear, stone fruit and citrus notes and herby notes on the finish and a lovely minerality. Crisp and refreshing but with wonderful depth which makes if the perfect match with seafood, grilled cheese or roast chicken.

The Malvasia is a new skin contact w**e for our orange w**e lovers 🧡 dried apricots, orange peel and honey notes with a textured palate, spice and herbal finish.
