Warning its a long post....
Thank you to everyone who has viewed and shared the videos. I really appreciate it. Quite a few people have messaged me privately. Giving me his name and where he works even where he drinks. So I rang the company he works for and i have spoken to the thief's boss, hes viewed the face book video. And called me back. And I've been assured he will be bringing him in to pay for the drink he stole. Once he's paid for the drink and apologises, I will consider the matter closed. I'm not going to name where he works as his boss has been honest and fair with me. I hope this man/ thief has learnt something. Only he knows.
We work really hard 7 days a week. 6 days at the shop and the seventh doing All the admin etc. I try and give the best customer service. Stock a variety of products that people might like. Hoping that when your passing or feel hungry or thirsty you'll remember that lady that was nice or o there's that place with the jumbo rolls. It's 7pm and I'm still here. Cleaning down a kitchen, Putting away a delivery, bottling up etc Stephens been cutting the enormous hedge and looking after our extra large garden so people can sit for a little while and have a peaceful breakfast or lunch or a pot of tea and cake from our newly opened tea room. It might look easy and possibly glamorous. But to be honest we are shattered most days if not every day. I'm sure there are easier ways of making a living... I could work for someone else and possibly make more money or take pictures of my feet and send my socks in the post lol. But I quiet like making people happy when they come in and they get excited about a little village shop that stocks something from there childhood. Or they've been looking forward since last night to have breakfast here. One guy said he'd traveled from Scotland and didn't stop as he didn't want me to be closed so he could have a bacon and egg jumbo roll.
And now we've opened the Hidden Garden tearoom I'm looking forward to people coming and making memories with friends, family and loved ones. Celebrating good times, laughing, relaxing and enjoying the food and drinks we make.
I know I've rambled but when you walk into our little shop I hope it's like been welcomed into my home my space. So when you steal, thief or nick anything even a £2.35 ice coffee it's a total disrespect of all the we put into making that 3, 4minute shop a nice time. I'm no tescos or premier were independent little village shop that were proud of. And we are so grateful to everyone who shops here. Every little helps ###x
