🔨 From a pile of timber to a cosy hedgehog home! Here's how our "Hedgehog Barn" was built, step by step. 🦔
1️⃣ The base box with a proper insulated wooden floor, so no hedgehog sleeps on cold ground.
2️⃣ Walls and an internal divider wall, for a draught-free nesting area.
3️⃣ Roof board on, with the entrance arch marked out.
4️⃣ Measuring the roof angle (152.1°) so everything fits snug.
5️⃣ The roof shape going on, with the entrance cut.
6️⃣ A little filler to seal the joins.
7️⃣ Painting and protecting the outside.
8️⃣ Roof panel on, with our laser-engraved Bartas Custom Works branding.
9️⃣ The finished house, with a porch, laser-cut details and raised feet to lift it off the damp ground.
🔟 Out in the garden, with the hinged roof that lifts for easy cleaning.
1️⃣1️⃣ Natural wood inside, with no paint or chemicals.
📏 Approx 54 x 44 cm, with ventilation holes. 🏡 It's on display at the library right now, so pop in and take a look (the last picture is the card that goes with it)!
