🏰🍷 The oldest property in the Médoc region, Chateau de Lamarque

The family's history dates back to when Garison de Lamarque built the original fortified castle in the 11th century to protect the region from Viking invasions. Later, during the reign of Britain's Henry V, the Duke of Gloucester took up residence at the castle but, when the French regained the lands in the 15th century, after the "Hundred Years' War", vineyards were established, ushering in the chateau's long association with w**e production.

From the 16th century (until the early 1800s) the Fumel side of the family were owners of Chateau Haut-Brion, Chateau Margaux and Chateau Brane-Mouton (later Mouton Rothschild), so they definitely were in the know when it came to picking out excellent properties in Bordeaux!

The current family are the 25th generation at the chateau and their w**es are highly critically acclaimed around the world 🌍

A well-structured, ripe w**e with black currant fruits, underlined by the w**e's tannins and acidity.

The "second w**e" of Chateau Lamarque, produced from younger vines in the vineyard.

Delicious mulberry, blackberry, cherry and blackcurrant notes complement earthy and leathery undertones. Finishes with mellow vanilla, cedar and smoke.

🏰🍷🇫🇷Chateau du Neurin, Haut Medoc, Bordeaux, 2018

Established in the 1970s by the Murcia family, and vinified by the local Cussac cooperative, Chateau du Neurin has been run since the 2017 harvest by Earl C Brun and members of his family, practicing sustainable farming, manual harvests and making the w**e in their own cellars.

🍇🍷The w**e is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot, with a classic nose of ripe red and black fruits and a lightly spiced oaky character. An elegant w**e with all the typical characteristics of the Haut-Medoc.

🍎❄️🇨🇦 Neige Cidre de Glace (Apple Ice C***r) from Canada

Neige - French for "snow" - is a rare delicacy from the Quebec region of Canada. Apples are late-picked at harvest, then the Canadian cold sets to work: the juice is taken outside into the depths of the sub-zero winter, where the water content freezes out as ice. The naturally concentrated juice left behind is then fermented to produce a Neige Ice C***r.
 

🍽️Food Match: Neige is best enjoyed chilled, and can be shared and savoured on its own, but with blue cheeses it's heavenly! Enjoy it with both Shropshire Blue and Stilton. Neige is popular in France, where it's often paired with foie gras

Nora Albarino, , Rias Baixas, 2023

🌱 Hand-picked from 20+ year old vines grown on granitic soils. The w**e sees 4 months' ageing on the lees, 90% in steel tank and 10% aged in oak.

This is an outstanding Albarino from Bodegas Vina Nora’s stunning estate. The w**e displays wonderful aromas of juicy citrus, pear and stone fruits lifted by elegant notes of orange blossom and white flowers. The palate is refreshing and bright with a rounded texture and a long finish.

🦋🥇 Award winning Albarino from Bodegas Aquitania …

Albarino Bernon, Bodega Aquitania, Rias Baixas, 2025

🌱Situated in the heart of the Salnés Valley, in the Galician Rías Baixas, the main vineyards of the Aquitania w**ery, such as Viña Iglesario, Currás, Aillos, Lourido and Montarrán, are located in nearby plots, planted on well-drained granite soils where the bedrock sometimes emerges.
Centuries old vines co-exist with younger vines giving exceptional Albarino w**es. Green pruning and cluster thinning is carried out prior to harvesting of the grapes. Fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vats.

👀👃👅Tasting Note: Dry, crisp, and refreshing white w**e, light yellow in appearance, with fresh citrus and orchard fruit aromas. A silky and precise palate with a bitter lemon zest note and underlying minerality.

☀️Pazo Rosqueira Albarino, Bodegas Pinord, Rias Baixas, 2024


🌱Produced at the Pazo Pondal w**ery in the Condado de Tea region on the border with Portugal. This is the furthest inland, warmest, and driest of the sub zones of Rias Baixas.
The w**ery was founded in 1998 and is a young and dynamic family-owned operation. Fruit is sourced from 4 plots covering an area of 12 hectares which are currently being converted to organic production.
The grapes are manual harvested before undergoing a wild yeast ferment and ageing on fine lees for 4 months.


👀👃🏻👅Tasting note: Extraordinarily fragrant, with floral aromas and white fruit. In the mouth, the w**e is fresh, broad, and round, with apple and pear fruit characteristics. The finish is clean, polished and balanced with refreshing saline minerality.


🍽️Food Match: It pairs perfectly with fresh seafood such as oysters, clams and steamed mussels. It also goes well with light, oily fish salads with citrus fruits and herb vinaigrette. A risotto of seasonal vegetables and white truffle can intensify the citrus and floral notes, while fresh goat cheese with honey and nuts creates a delicate and sophisticated match. Finally, a lemon mousse dessert with red fruits is the perfect accompaniment to close this fresh and balanced pairing.

⚠️📜👷🏻‍♂️🛠️Customer Notice...

As part of ongoing efforts to improve our service, we are upgrading the oldest of our warehouse bays. This work involves renewing and levelling the concrete floor and improving the lighting and Wi-Fi connections. This means we have to move all the w**e somewhere else, which in practice means squeezing it into the other warehouse bay and the studio.

From the week commencing 17th August, for approximately 10 days, the studio will be open as normal but browsing will be ‘slightly’ restricted.

Once the work is complete and the stock moved back, we will have an improved picking flow, together with a new dispatch area for our wholesale customers. We are looking forward to the work being completed, but whilst it is in progress, we ask for your understanding.
