and smashed through a few of the core range today and they were tasting mighty fine. Unfiltered, unfined, unpasteurised beer, made up the hill. Stout, Red IPA, NEIPA and Bitter inbound. Good times!

CIAO BELLA’ CIELO

THURSDAY 30TH APRIL 6:30-8:30PM

Join Tony Schendel and our Sadie & Hannah for a chilled tasting evening full of Italian wines. Started in 1908, now in their fourth generation, the Cielo family have always been committed to producing a selection of Italian wines that bring joy and value to tables all over the world.

We will start with some fizz from Veneto, then some different styles and blends of white and red wines from Puglia and Veneto. Sampling different Appassimento styles along the way ending with an Amarone.

A fun informative evening with at least 7 wines

So a couple of weeks ago Ian came into the shop to showcase some new South African producers he is working with and all I can say is WOW! It took me right back to when proper South African wines were first arriving in the UK back in the 90’s. it was a pure delight to sample some of these incredible producers and not from the big wineries. All of these wines have a story (Even Ian worked in one of the wineries as his first job in the wine trade).

A fun and informative evening where we will sample some of the most sublime wines available at the moment.

WINE TASTING W/ FRAN ADDIS & OUR HANNAH

THURSDAY 9TH APRIL

6PM-8PM (this tasting may overrun slightly due to the amount of wines being sampled)

Fran Addis has been working in the wine trade for the last 7 years and has always loved helping source new wines with Hannah. 2026 we have already found 6 new wines from the Loire region together. Hannah spent most of her childhood holidays in the Loire and has always had a soft spot for the chalkiness and clean styles found there.

During the evening you will sample some of the best examples found in the UK right now, we did struggle to only choose 6 wines so we have gone slightly mad but hey what could be better? More wine + more grape varieties = more fun. This tasting has been promised for ages as it really holds a special place in Hannah’s heart.

Sherborne you are in for treat! We are being joined by the truly wonderful Miguel, who founded Finca Allende in 1986 and Finca Nueva in 2004 both based in the northwest of Rioja Alta, a true gem of an area in Rioja.

An evening in which we guarantee to impart knowledge of one of the world’s most iconic wine regions. Miguel not only founded these amazing vineyards but is also the winemaker where all the grapes are picked by hand and sorted by eye, so you can ask him any questions.

Such a great tasting today with Ian from .trade — South African wine specialists — every wine delivered on flavour and it’s fair to say you’ll be seeing some new bottles on the shelf. Some iconic producers, quality low intervention winemaking, and outstanding craft.

So many standouts but a very interesting little skin contact white blend of Chenin, Roussanne, Fernao Pires and Viognier in a cool little crown capped bottle that is MADE for indie wine communities, a few new Chenins that will genuinely knock your socks off, and a Bordeaux style red blend that knew how to make an entrance in the glass. Yeee-haw!
