EXCITING NEWS!
We are now selling bake-at-home croissants and pains au chocolat. They can be baked from frozen, so in just 20 minutes your breakfast will be ready and your house will smell gorgeous. We also have local butter and a great range of Isle of Wight jams to accompany them.

We made this change from pre-baked due to another wholesale price increase, which we concluded made them too expensive for customers. This product change means you can now get three unbaked croissants for less than the price of one baked one.

Great value and great taste!

We have everything you need to make pancakes! Open this morning till midday and this afternoon from 4pm to 6pm.

Make sure you can get the bread you want and order in advance. Just come into the shop and talk to us about it.

For Grace’s bakery items, order by 11am and get your order the next morning (except Sundays).

For Delicious bread, place your order two days before the delivery day (currently Saturdays only but increasing as the shop gets busier).

Despite all the products in the picture, you only need three ingredients to make the crumbliest, tastiest shortbread. We thought you might like to ring the changes though, so have suggested a whole load of additions!

We were pleased to welcome Susie Sheldon, Lord Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, to the shop this morning.

At the end of last year we were told that our nomination for a King’s Award for Voluntary Service didn’t result in an award. However, as the King’s representative on the Island, the Lord Lieutenant saw our assessment and thought it sounded as though we were doing something special here in Seaview, so she asked if she could come and see for herself.

The Lord Lieutenant discussed the difficulties of running a seasonal business with Sarah and David (our Chair and Treasurer) before looking round and doing some shopping. We hope she’ll be spotted out and about with her pink Seaview Village Community Shop tote bag!

Laura Forbes-Coy suggested this one, and I tried it out for Sunday breakfast… it was really lovely.

Smoked Bacon and Tomato Pasta on our new recipe shelf!

This is the first recipe in our new promotion. It was created by Justin, one of our volunteers, who assures us it’s quick, easy and delicious!

Come in and pick up a copy of the recipe. The dish costs £2.04 per person and all ingredients are available in the shop.

We are saying goodbye to Stepan, our weekend supervisor, after two happy years. He is leaving to further his chosen career and will be sorely missed by customers and volunteers.

His moving on means there is a vacancy for someone to lead our friendly weekend volunteer team to provide an excellent service to the customers of our community shop.

Happy Christmas to all our customers! See picture for our festive opening hours. As usual, the only day of the year that we are closed is Christmas Day. We are open at some point on all other days, though there are a few changes to some of our opening hours.

Do come in and see us over the festive period. We’ll have your newspapers; daily bread, milk and eggs; emergency wine, cheese and chocolate; as well as the everyday things like toothpaste and washing-up liquid.
