They’re here!

The first batch of our very own single cask rum has arrived and are all lined up and ready to go to their new homes.

Triple aged Fiji 2018 Rum. First in an ex-Bourbon cask in Fiji, then in an ex-Cognac cask in France and finally finished in an ex-Port barrel. Very tasty indeed.

There are two bottles left in the shop. £65 a bottle.

Cannot wait to open mine!

AN EXCLUSIVE ARTISAN SINGLE CASK RUM

We’ve waited a year for this and now it’s about to arrive!

We were lucky enough for Planteray Rum to offer us our very own Single Cask rum and wow, it’s special! Having tasted through a selection of different casks from different islands, different vintages and different finishes we selected......

Fiji Islands 2018 Single Cask Rum

Produced at the Paradise Distilery, this rum was distilled in a column still from molasses derived from hand-cut sugarcane grown on Fiji’s volcanic soils. It was first aged for 3 years in an ex-Bourbon barrel in Fiji before being shipped to France for a further 18 months ageing in a Ferrand Cognac cask. It then went on to spend yet another 18 months in an ex-Lagrima Port cask. That’s pretty impressive right?

Expect cacao, raisin, figs and prunes with a rich sherry, quince and caramelised orange finish. It’s absolutely banging and we are so proud to have our name on it.

We are offering the first 40 bottles at a very special price of £65, after which it will go back up to £75 per bottle. Production is tiny and when it’s gone, it’s gone so if you love rum and want to start collecting what could be a series of Artisan single casks, then you’d best click on the link in bio.....stock will arrive within the next week or two

Meet Peter Pentz.

This is a selfie we found on our iPad the last time he came to the UK to do a tasting for us.

It’s safe to say Peter is a character.

Many of you will have already experienced the force of nature that is Peter Pentz. Peter is from family owned and run Groote Post in Darling, South Africa. They produce a range of stunning w**es, many of which are top-sellers in the shop but to top it all, Peter is also one of the most entertaining w**e producres we’ve ever had visit and so he comes back year after year. We love him and his w**es and he’s back in Salisbury next week. Yay!

So grab a ticket for his tasting and experience the man himself.

A ‘once in a blue moon’ opportunity to taste all 6 of the latest Planteray Extreme Series release. Uber-premium rums from Jamaica, Haiti, Barbados, Fiji, Belize and St Lucia dating back as far as 1998. Hosted by world expert Paul McFadyen himself. An absolute treat!

I’ll start the ball rolling by having a very non-traditional world famous Aegean Negroni from one of the world’s best bars (officially) in Athens (The Clumsies).

That’s because I’m lucky enough to be on holiday this week. Whoop. But you can pop into the shop and have our very own Artisan Negroni with our very own Confluence Gin.
