This November, the Co-op are celebrating the incredible impact Co-op Members have had in communities across the UK.
To celebrate, I was joined by Helen from Kindling Farm and Coach Jodie from St Helens Bees Netball Club along with her year 5 players.
We met at Coop Prescot Road and were joined by Co-op colleagues Jess and Claire representing local Co-op stores. It was an opportunity for the causes and Co-op colleagues to mark the occasion with a photo opportunity, and to thank members for choosing a cause and supporting their community.
The Co-op nationally have now shared more than £58 million with over 20,500 local causes through the Local Community Fund since 2020.

A big thank you from Becky and colleagues at Coop Prescot Road to customers and Co-op members for their amazing support for people in their local communities.
As part of their action for the community, the store supports the work of St Matthew's Centre Your Local Pantry. During the month of February shoppers were encouraged to donate a 'non perishable' item of food in exchange for a raffle ticket, the prize being an amazing chocolate bouquet. The raffle was drawn at the end of February. The goods were duly donated to St Matthew's with thanks.
What are 'Your Local Pantries'?
Your Local Food Pantries are places that soften the blow of high living costs and bring people together around food. They strengthen communities, foster friendships, loosen the grip on poverty and contribute to healthier, happier lives.
Pantries are laid out like shops, and for a small weekly subscription of around £4 members choose their own items from a wide selection, including fresh, refrigerated, frozen and long-life foods. Pantry members can typically pick up fresh and cupboard favourites that will often value at £15 - £20. Membership is open to the community and local families are strongly encouraged to join.
