If anyone knows anyone that would like a loaf of bread with today’s and some with tomorrow’s date please pop round and help yourself. Sadly due to the illness and then passing away of my cousin the bread orders and sales haven’t been to the normal levels.

Genuine honest question??

With the news that another small independent shop in our area closing its doors! Bows boutique.

It’s all well and good saying “You will be missed and lovely little shop!”

But kind words don’t help keep them open, don’t pay the bills and bring up the kids.

When will people start to shop local and use small independents more often who look after the people in their community than the likes of Amazon other internet shopping sites and the big supermarkets??

When it’s too late??

Feeling deflated!!

It’s hard enough for us small retailers to keep our prices down to help our customers but when you get people trying to steal it then makes it even harder! If you are friends with kids or young adults that do that then think what effect they will have on you too and ultimately me and my family!!

Wow!!! Now I know why I don’t drive top of the range cars!! Talking to another shopkeeper at the cash and carry and asked him how much he was selling Choc Dips for? My jaw nearly dropped!!

We sell them for 79p and he sells them for £1.40!!

Wow!!! When another retailer stops you in the cash and carry and asks how things are? Then goes on to say his store is currently 40% down on this time last year!! Yes 40% and he is thinking of getting out as soon as he is able to.

It really puts things in to perspective and shows how hard and bad things are for small independent shops!!
