Celebrating the new patio finally being finished and getting the big BBQ out! A Texan bbq and whisky glazed spatchcock chicken with a charred corn, feta and orzo salad š marked the occasion nicely.
In the glass I picked out the Seghesio Sinoma Valley Zinfandel. Fruit sourced from family owned vineyards across Sanoma County, Joaquin County and Contra Costa County. These guys have been growing Zinfandel for five generations, so they know what are doing with it.
Rich, elegant and flavours of blackcurrant, plum, blackberry and dark cherries with a touch of allspice and a note of vanilla to finish.
Itās a stunning example of Zinfandel and the perfect partner to the chargrilled chicken.
Mrs N on the other hand, went for a far more classic pairing and had her favourite. Long Barn Napa Valley Chardonnay with its tropical fruit, vanilla and buttered toast flavours.
Weāll agree to disagree on who got the best pairing. š
