THE W**E SISTERS VISIT….Dalling & Co in Kings Langley
As an independent w**e shop, it will come of no surprise that we LOVE other independent w**e shops and always seek them out when we’re away from home. Dalling & Co was one of the first w**e shops I fell in love with and was quite frankly the main reason I wanted to move to Kings Langley many years ago. That dream never happened, and I guess in retrospect it’s a good thing as The W**e Sisters might never have been born.
We loved that you could browse the shelves whilst sipping a glass, and it was that element that we really wanted to recreate at The W**e Sisters. I loved going to buy our Christmas w**e selection, sipping, browsing and list writing. It turned Christmas chore in to a treat. We hope you’ll do the same here.
Honorary w**e sister Donna and I went back to visit Jeff at Dallings and it was great to see them still thriving. We enjoyed browsing the shelves with a glass of their gorgeous rosé from Austrian producer Mittelbach. If you find yourself over there, give the Provence a miss and try this instead, you won’t be disappointed.
Attached to the w**e shop is their own fab deli (sorry no space for us to do the same). I treated myself to some delicious chilli jam and crackers for a lunch we’re hosting soon. We may not have a deli here, but don’t forget you can bring in food to The W**e Sisters from any of the fab local independent food providers we are so lucky to have in Redbourn .
We share some of the same suppliers as Dallings, so we picked up a few recommendations from Jeff for some new w**es for us to try, so we now have the Fog Mountain Merlot on the shelves, and the Kaiken Brut Sparkling, which he said his customers preferred to ch*****ne in a blind taste test, and yet it’s only £19.99 on the shelf, or under £30 to drink in. We’re yet to try it but we’ll get on it asap 🥂(tough job)
Dalling & Co also run plenty of tasting events and regular tapas evenings which are always a sell out. Congratulations on keeping the vibe going in Kings Langley. W**e shops are where the heart is ❤️
Our next visit will be to in Hitchin who helped us work out how to start up almost 5 years ago!
