Every year I like to do a wine of the summer™️… this year we have TWO.

The first is Monologo Santa Teresa, a single varietal Vinho Verde from 🇵🇹. This wine stuns me every time I drink it. Soft lemon notes with an almost creamy mouthfeel with peach and nectarine. 🍑 just a delight.

On taste all weekend

We’re thrilled to unveil Dvino’s Spanish Summer – a special release inspired by Duncan’s recent trip to Rioja and our new exclusive partnership with a family-run Spanish importer we met at SITT Manchester. They blew us away with their wines: the story, complexity and age for the price was just exceptional.

We’re now the ONLY stockist in the North-West with access to these rare, perfectly aged Riojas from Bodegas Urbina— a historic, family-owned winery known for traditional methods and incredibly long ageing.

This wine was exceptional, I even carried a bottle around Manchester after our SITT tasting so I wouldn’t waste any. It’s unbelievable and a steal at the price 90% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo. From 20+ year-old vines, aged 30 months in oak + 48 months in bottle.
Urbina uses ‘Especial’ on only their greatest vintages, 2004 & 2001 - and this one is textbook Rioja: layered, smooth, and sophisticated.

A selection of Urbina’s greatest grapes from the year 2000. This crianza is head and shoulder above any we have tastes. Bold, rich, and still bursting with dark berries, plum, and warm vanilla spice. 24 years old and still thriving.

Lots to cover but in short we’ve combined some discoveries from a trip to Rioja and Navara, 🇪🇸 our favourite new wines from the SITT tasting, a brand new independent family owned supplier who specialises in Spain and some new stuff from existing suppliers.

Expect to find,

- a sparkling Albariño,

-2 new Reserva Especial Rioja Reservas (2001 & 2004)

-2 brand new traditional method Cavas,

-lightly sparkling sweet moscato,

- Spanish Malbec 😲,

- Tinta de Toro,

- White Rioja

-Our absolute FAVOURITE wine from the whole SITT tasting under £20!

- a Tempranillo Reserva for £13.99 that should be £17 (imho)

- and a £70 2014 Priorat with one of the highest Vivino scores I’ve ever seen..that you can taste, for free in store!
