We will be closed Weds-Friday this week, due to staff holidays I’m back on the road delivering 🛺.

SATURDAY is the day if you are calling in for vino, when we will have NZ Sauvignon, Sancerre & Champagne 🍾 open for the nice weather! ☀️

Nice to catch up with Luca this afternoon with a drop of some quality EXCLUSIVE vinos..

-The TreAnni 🇮🇹 is one of my personal favourites (a couple will be making their way home with me 👀) only made in the finest years this Nebbiolo rivals Barolos at much higher price points so at £26.99 (£25.64 if you’re on the list 😉) it’s not cheap but it is exceptional value. Orders of magnitude better than anything you are buying for £25 in a restaurant!

- San Luigi is a premium DOCG wine region in Piedmont and is 100% dolcetto 🍇, medium bodied with strawberry, wild cherry and brambly fruit. Delicious summer drinking.

- Galli (Ian Gallagher) another cracking Nebbiolo from the Langhe DOC. A fleshy earthy strawberry and plum wine with firm tannins making this an excellent red meat 🥩/ BBQ 🍗 vino!@

Ahoy! With Summer ☀️ set to finally arrive this weekend we are treating you to some fantastic Vinos for BBQs 🍗 or just refreshing afternoon drinks 🍷.

- La Colonia Gruner Veltliner is a favourite of ours, traditionally Austrian 🇦🇹 grape variety this is produced in Argentina with grapes grown at altitude ⛰️. An incredibly versatile food friendly wine.

- Folie D’ines rose from Southern France 🇫🇷, “sunshine in a glass” etc etc.. one of our brand new wines and a steal at £11.99 for lovers of Provence.

-Pure rose Prosecco, 🍾 bubbles? Why not! Rose petal 🌷 and cherry, 🍒 with a soft & persistent finish

- Cantina Lavis Marzemino an Italian. 🇮🇹 grape you’ve probably never had but gets a mention in the opera, The Marriage of Figaro! 🎶. Full and fruity just right for BBQ red meats 🍷 🥩

- Lastly Carlo Magno 🇮🇹 is still available to taste on the Coravin.. what can be said about this wine that I haven’t already said? 🤐. A joy!

And then later I got to taste some immaculately made Beaujolais 🇫🇷 with Julien from D.Piron.

The purity of fruit 🍇 was outstanding, much more depth than a lot of Beaujolais as well, though the entry level Les Cadoles was very approachable and would make the perfect summer red! 🍷

We already stock the Morgon but expect more of these next month

So we start the day tasting some organic single malts 🥃 from the aisle of Mull 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.. Nc’Nean are innovative in that they vary the yeast used in the brewing (giving flavours of date and maybe raisin?) and are also the only Scottish distiller to use 100% organic barley.🌱. Strong stuff, well into the 40s ABV. Recommended with ginger ale or soda water.

A TREAT! 🎁 for anyone happening by this weekend we have got the very special “Carlo Magno” Barbera from Nizza open to taste on the Coravin 😳

Only made in the finest years this blockbuster is shipped to England by our man in Piedmont 🕵🏻‍♂️.

The appellation of Nizza represents the pinnacle of what can be achieved with the Barbera grape and has been recognised with its own DOCG classification (just like Barolo for the Nebiolo grape 🍇)

Long time regulars may remember the wine as Merope, one of our all time favourites.. Carlo Magno is just a modernisation of the brand, the new label I’m sure you’ll agree is very slick

Full and ripe with deep flavour. Cassis, black fruit, damson, 🫐 hedgerow herbs, 🌿 notes of liquorice and clove. What I got into wine for.

A belter.
