🎉 It’s that time of year again - Co-op Fortnight is here! From 23 June to 6 July, we’re taking a moment to reflect on everything co-operative, and this year, it feels especially meaningful.

Why? Because we’re also marking the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 - a timely reminder of how co-ops across the UK are making a difference in their own unique way, and what makes our movement so powerful: people, purpose, and the strength of working together.

Keep an eye out; we’ll be sharing lots of amazing things from our friends at Co-operatives UK over the next two weeks, as well as plenty of our own Southern Co-op stories, so stay tuned - you won’t want to miss out!

We’re sorry to say that we’ve taken the difficult decision to close this store later this month. We’d like to thank all our customers for their support and reassure you that we’ll continue to serve the community through our nearby stores.

Our primary focus now is to work closely with all store colleagues to explore all suitable opportunities at our other Southern Co-op stores, including those nearby.

Unfortunately, the decision has been taken as a consequence of challenging market conditions and strong competition, which has led to a significant decline in performance over the last few years.

With alternative stores in Poole, Creekmoor and Bournemouth, local community groups can continue to apply for Local Funding grants through our Love Your Neighbourhood programme: https://southern.coop/how-we-do-it/community
